There is no shop this month as it is our members Bazaar, so be tempted with the goodies fellow quilters have on sale. A big thank you to our hostess groups for SEWING DAY Creative Threads who will be looking after us and Loose Threads on SEWING NIGHT. VISITORS AND NEW MEMBERS If this is your first visit and you don t have a group, please feel free to sit at the Loose Threads table to meet us. We are delighted that you have joined us. Visitors are welcome to attend three times after which you are required to join as members in order to continue enjoying the benefits that membership provides. Please return these and any other outstanding blocks as we are hoping to put them together at Oct 27 CQ Bee at Alexander Craft House. We would be delighted and grateful for your help at this the last bee for 2013. There will be no BOM in Oct or Nov but we will have some UFO s and projects ready for you to take to finish off. CALLING BERNINA SERIES 7 AND 8 OWNERS Ocean Keys Sewing Centre is presenting a Bernina Special Presentation Friday 18 th October 9.30am - 12noon Brad from Bernina Special Presentation Brad will do a presentation on the new paintwork software available for the Bernina 8 or 7 series embroidery machine and afterwards a chat on these machines. Brian Burnell has been kind enough to allow his head technician Brad to come up to Ocean Keys Sewing Centre so that all you ladies in the northern suburbs that can t get into the city or down to Cannington can also have the opportunity to learn about their machines. This is an ideal time to hear from Brad who knows all about the machines and hopefully you will learn some of the workings of these great machines. A short question time will be available after the event. Even if you don t own a Bernina 7 or 8 series machine but would like to attend to see and discover what they can do you are very welcome. Do you have a favourite charity? We have quilts ready to offer for charitable fundraising. PMH, foster kids and womens refuges are in need of quilts suitable for teenagers. We are still collecting manly quilts for St Barts. CQ will be having a stall at the Oct members bazaar. We have fabric, books, magazines and a few notions for sale. Plus a silent auction for magnificent men s suiting fabric swatches. Melbourne Cup Race Day: We have a few places left for our inaugural CQ sewing racing day to be held in Palmyra,!0-3pm, with all the usual fun and silliness of a race day with lunch, raffles, prizes all the while producing community quilts.
