Mexico City Collection Spring Summer 2015 A Global Touch for the Modern Home

Built over ancient Aztec ruins with romantic streets, stairs and colonial houses painted in vibrant colors, Mexico City was the perfect inspiration for our latest Blissliving Home collection. When we started to conceptualize the new line, I knew from the beginning this collection would be centered on Frida Kahlo, an amazing painter and celebrated style icon who called Mexico City her home. We paid tribute to this intriguing artist with two fresh designs. Our signature Frida bed is a sea of midnight blue opening up to passionate oversized blossoms of Dahlia flowers, while our Casa Azul bed, named after Frida s family home, is a gorgeous watercolor composition in a stormy blue color story. To celebrate the rich culture of this metropolis, we added the Madero bed which is inspired by the traditional Mexican talavera tile art and the famous House of Tiles on Francisco Madero Street. Honoring Mexico City s multi-cultural history, we created a stunning black-and-white jacquard bed with an Aztec inspired pattern. Woven with intricate strands of white, gray and black yarns, we were able to achieve a stunning texture for this bed which we called Zocalo, after the main square in Mexico City s historic center. Looking at this collection as a whole, I feel inspired by the life and art of Frida Kahlo and enchanted by the magic that is Mexico City. Closing my eyes, I almost feel as if I have shared coffee with Frida and her friends. I hope you will share this experience as we invite you to enjoy our new Blissliving Home designs.
