Sign up soon to reserve your spot. 541.385.7166 LEARN THE BASICS Beginning Hand Quilting March 2 nd Time $20 Teacher: Susie Berke Hand Quilting is relaxing and very satisfying. If you want to hand-quilt your next creation and aren't sure about your technique or you just want a refresher course, plan to join Susie as she guides you through the process. Beginning Quilt Making March 3 rd, 10 th, 17 th, 24 th & April 14 th 9:30 am to 12:30 pm $50 plus cost of pattern and fabric Teachers: Sharon Botkins and Susie Berke Have you always wanted to quilt, but didn t know where to start? This is a great class for beginners or those of you that want to improve your basic skills. Learn all of the tips and techniques that cover the basics of quilt making such as fabric selection, rotary cutting, machine piecing, quilt construction, border application, and binding. Beginning Hand Appliqué March 10 th & 24 th 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm $25 Teacher: Gail Ransdall Join the hand appliqué craze! Gail will show you several methods of hand appliqué from freezer paper to the starch method. This will be a hands-on class that will cover all the basics of materials and stitches.

Basic Paper Piecing March 17 th 10:30 am to 4:30 pm $40 Teacher: Kathe Sabine This is a wonderful technique to add to your arsenal of piecing skills. You will learn foundation piecing, the tips and tools to make it foolproof. No stress foundation piecing is simple, fun, and yields terrific results. You will be making the wall-hanging "Are We There Yet?" that is 40" x 52". BERNINA EDUCATION Bernina Mastery Classes The first through fourth Thursday of each month 9:30-12:30 pm Free if your Bernina was purchased at Sew Many Quilts. If purchased at another store - $30.00 per class Instructor: Brenda Sheppard Machine Mastery Classes will make you more proficient with your sewing machine, as well as introduce to more of the functions that your sewing machine has to offer. You will also learn about presser feet and different accessories that Bernina has. First Thursday: Machine Basics You will gain information about needles and threads, cleaning and oiling your machine, the functions on your machine and how to use them. Second Thursday: Feet and Accessories You will learn about the presser feet that came with you machine, how to use them, and about other presser feet that are available from Bernina. Third Thursday: Computerized Machines You will learn some of the unique features of your computerized machine and how to use them. Fourth Thursday: Embroidery If your machine includes embroidery you will learn about threads, stabilizers, hooping, and how to stitch out a design. Bernina Beginning Serger Class I Friday, February 24 th 1:00-3:00 pm $30 Instructor: Susie Berke Did Santa bring you a serger that you would love to use but that intimidates you? Join our fearless Susie Berke and learn about your serger. Learn the parts of your machine and what they do. We'll show you how to clean, oil, and adjust your machine as well as threading. We'll cover the basics on flat seams, overcast seams, and rolled hems. Reserve your spot since space is limited. Please bring serger thread for your machine.

Bernina Beginning Serger Class II Friday, March 23 rd 1:00-3:00 pm $30 Instructor: Susie Berke Susie will take you well beyond Class I. You will learn basic seaming, changing your feet and what they do. We'll use the elasticator and you'll do gathering, cording, and the blind hem. Besides utility sewing you will make and receive samples of decorative options and a zipper. Please bring serger thread for the number of spools on your machine. If you would like to test drive the 1150DA, call us to reserve a machine. CLASSES 18" Doll Outfit a Month 3rd Sunday of the month beginning February 19 th 12 noon to 3:00 pm $50 for all 7 classes or $15 per class Teacher: Pat Fry Do you have a daughter, granddaughter, or niece with an 18 doll? These clothes make great gifts that take hardly any fabric and guarantee hours of fun for any little girl. We will be making one outfit a month for seven months. Pat will teach all steps from creating the pattern on paper to the finishing touches. Pat has extensive garment sewing experience and knows lots of tricks of the trade. Chocolate Recipe Towels Feb. 25 th 10:00 am to 1:00 pm $20 plus pattern Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten Here's another wonderful idea for machine embroidery! Recipe towels make delightful gifts for the cook and chocolate lover. You will go home with a completed project embroidered and finished in class. Cost of pattern is additional. Snap Bag II February 25 th 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm $12 plus pattern Teacher: Gail Ransdall This cute little bag snaps closed by using a carpenter's metal measuring tape. It has no raw seams, an inside pocket, and a boxed bottom. Great for cosmetics, sewing supplies, and as a travel bag. Carpenter's metal tape will be provided for the 1st bag and is included in the class fee.

Learn a New Technique March 3 rd, April 7 th, May 5 th, and June 2 nd (continues from August thru December) 2:00 to 4:00 pm $10 per class (buy 4 classes and get the 5th on free) Teacher: Sew Many Quilts Staff Each month learn a new (or not so new) technique. We will be teaching you how to make 4 flying geese at one time, the perfect binding, a fast and easy pillowcase, and the wonders of texture magic. In the future we will show you the technique of making 8 half-square triangles at one time, x-blocks, and other new techniques we discover on the way. Covered Up! Laptop Satchel March 31 st 10:00 am to 4:00 pm $30 Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten This very chic laptop satchel is the only way to haul around your laptop. This curiously flat bag also doubles for notebooks or papers for the office or class. Phyllis will show you a way to add an outside pocket if you carry an external keyboard with you. The satchel measures 14" x 16" and is only about 1/2" thick. Peek-a-Boo Bag April 7 th 9:30 to noon $25 (includes kit) Teacher: Gail Ransdall This cute bag is easy to make. They are great for your sewing supplies, travel supplies, beach gear, and make-up. The price includes the pattern and supplies for one bag. Thimballina Bag April 21 st 10:00 am to 4:00 pm $25 Teacher: Barb Hartnett This mini Messenger Bag with 42 long shoulder strap is great for travel or anytime you want to carry just the basics. Town and Country Jacket May 12 th 10:00 am to 4:00 pm $50 Teacher: Linda Engebretson Back by popular request, Linda will teach how to make this fun, versatile jacket.

MONTHLY CLUBS An Apron a Day Meets 2 nd Wednesday of the month beginning March 14 th except July & August. The club will meet 7 times. 1:00 pm 5:00 pm $50 plus monthly cost of kit Teacher: Caroline Mintz (Apron detail) Ever wonder how Barbara Billingsley (Leave it to Beaver s mom) always looked so carefree in the kitchen? It was her apron, of course! Learn special techniques and obtain patterns for making vintage and retro aprons like the ones worn by the Beave s mom. In this club, you will learn how to make a charming apron in a single afternoon and have one for each day of the week by the end of the course! Register soon, membership is limited. These patterns will only be available at club until after the seven months that it meets. Wool Sit & Sew Meets 2 nd Sunday of each month 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm Coordinator: Pam Sorenson This is a fun time of sharing and working on your own project. It's a casual, relaxed time when you can learn from each other, visit, learn new techniques and what is the latest on the wool appliqué scene. Quilting Divas Each Tuesday of the Month 1:00 pm to 7:00 pm $3.00 This group of ladies meets to work on their personal quilt projects. It's a fun, relaxing time for everyone - and none of the distractions of home. Just quilt, quilt, quilt or sew, sew, sew! Sit 'n Stitch Hand Embroidery Meets the 1 st & 3 rd Wednesday of each month 10:00 am to 12 noon Teacher: Linda Engebretson $ free Work on your own embroidery projects, brush up on techniques, and get expert advice from our hand embroidery expert, Linda. Stitch, chat, share, and enjoy! Ladies Night Out 1 st and 3 rd Friday of the month 5:00 pm - 9:30 pm $18 if you sign up that week $15 if you sign up a week in advance Relax after a hectic week and join us for catching up on projects. We will serve you a catered dinner with dessert and drinks while you enjoy each other s company. This is our most popular function so you need to sign up early! Don't forget to bring something for show and tell to get us all motivated. An instructor will be available if you need help.

Hoopin' It Up Meets the 3 rd Friday of each month 1:00 to 4:00 pm $15 plus pattern Teacher: Phyllis Van Etten For the months of February, March, and April we will be making a machine appliqué wall hanging by Lunch Box Quilts called Fancy Feathers. It is bright and springy. In May and June we will do a smaller project or learn a new technique. Hollyberries Club 2 nd Wednesday of the month 10:00-11:30 am $21.00 per month This is one of our most popular clubs! We meet once a month to enjoy each other, have refreshments, show & tell, and of course, lots of laughter and sharing plus door prizes!! There is also a gift certificate given away at the end of the year. This year we will be making "Pieceful Journey" by Pam's Piece by Piece. This block of the month is designed with all blocks using only four units - half-square, quarter square, flying geese, and square in a square. With a Civil War feel, this 83" square quilt has detailed piecing instructions with several methods of making units included.
