1861 Gb/s 13 nm DML DFB Laser The 1861 directly-modulated laser (DML) is a cost-effective solution for Gb/s digital transmission of up to 60 km using traditional intra-city SMF-28 single-mode fiber links. The 13 nm wavelength eliminates the concern about dispersion control over most installed intra-city fiber plants. The package contains a high-speed DFB laser chip, thermoelectric cooler, thermistor, optical isolator, and a rear-facet monitor photodiode for external optical power control. Laser Safety This product meets the appropriate standard in Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR). FDA/CDRH Class IIIb laser product. This device has been classified with the FDA/CDRH under accession number 0220250. Single-mode fiber pigtail with SC/APC connectors (standard). Wavelength = 1.3 µm. Maximum power = 30 mw. Because of size constraints, laser safety labeling (including an FDA class IIIb label) is not affixed to the module, but attached to the outside of the shipping carton.
