TROY MCINTOSH Road Safety a priority for GBPA CIT Management During McIntosh s presentation he emphasized the importance of obeying the rules of the road and being a responsible driver The number of fatalities are too great and the losses were just too vast for us, he said. According to the City Manager, the purpose of the speed monitors is to make drivers more conscientious of their speed. He also gave a brief overview of the history of the Hawksbill Creek Agreement, which was signed in 1954. This was when the Port asked the government for 50,000 acres of land to develop the city of Freeport. Finally, he stated that their mission was to better the lives of the citizens in the community and by extension The Bahamas. - FN Reporter RCLs club meetings have been successful thus far. On Tuesday July 19th twenty nine Rotarians, business professionals and friends gathered for an informative meeting on the importance of road safety in Grand Bahama. After his presentation, many were eager to ask questions and Mr. McIntosh gave insightful responses. 5
We know that if we want to see Rotary Serving Humanity even better in the years ahead, we'll need more willing hands, more caring hearts, and more bright minds to move our work forward. We'll need clubs that are flexible, so that Rotary service will be attractive to younger members, recent retirees, and working people. We'll need to seek out new partnerships, opening ourselves more to collaborative relationships with other organizations. Every day that you serve in Rotary, you have the opportunity to change lives. Everything you do matters; every good work makes the world better for us all. In this new Rotary year, we all have a new chance to change the world for the better, through Rotary Serving Humanity. Rotary strongly encourages weekly attendance at club meetings. If you cannot attend meetings you need to make up the missed meeting two weeks before or after. Make ups can be done online or visit the various clubs. We are the servants of humanity. Did you know about these?
