Copyright G. Dunkel Ancestral Origins of Baltic N-Z16981+ ver. 1.3. /4.10.2016 This small-scale study provides a new perspective to look at N-Z16981+ Balts SNP results. First of all, it must be noted, that to solve real ancestral origins by known ancestry of tested members, is a very rough way of estimating, because the time difference is often very large between the creation of mutations and known paternal lines. This study includes 69 results of N-Z16981+ members who are have announced their ancestry information. Unfortunately 7% of Z16981+ tested like to keep this information secret. Ancestry info of Z16981+ members 7 % Unknown Known In this analysis the number of SNP tested samples has been manipulated by the following formula: This measure equalizes the differences arising from various amounts tested in different countries. Hopefully this gives more accurate view, even if there is a risk of mistakes with countries where total of ydna tests is very low. First we can see differences with Z16981+ balt branch to comparing other M2783+ balts.
In some projects, these genetic branches have been named, N-Z16981+ Western Balts or South Balts, and branches like L1027+, L591+, L551+, Z16975+ are often called Lithuanians. The name Lithuanians for M2783+/Z16981- works pretty well in general terms, but Western or South are more complicated, because the main origin looks to be Latvians, (next Estonians). Another interesting observation is structures of these two pie charts. Z16981+ has a double number of origins and from all directions. Lithuanian origin is more homogenous. One natural explanation could be that the Z16981+ is older than Lithuanians branches. Z16981+ has seven younger genetic branches and the following two biggest branches are analysed next. First, the evolutionary line of N-Y6075 >Y6077>Y6076>Y17696>Y17420+ Ancestral Origins of Y6075+ (n=16) HUN CH HUN IRL Note: there are not any, EST,, BLR, UKR, members. The Main origin /. Ancestral Origins of Y6077+ (n=14) HUN SLOVAKIA HUN
Ancestral Origins of Y6076+ (n=12) CH Ancestral Origins of Y17696+ (n=7) CH Ancestral Origins of Y17420+ (n=3) CH TMRCA age to older SNPs Y6075 >Y6077>Y6076> is the same, namely 2300 years for all them, as well the structures of are similar. But then the younger Y17420 changes totally. It s difficult to conclude with certainty, what the origin is of Y6075, but the series of these pie charts show clearly how the evolution of subclades focuses the origin on Slovakia and Czech. We can assume that Y17420+ mutations are come into being in the Czech Republic.
The other main branch of Z16981+ is Y15622, just a little younger than Y6075, but the origin of Y15622 is totally different. The prevailing origins are Latvian. Further information: There is found two Estonians results from the database of Estonian Bio Centre, but they are not used on this analysis, but it still means that influence of Estonians just gives more power to North Baltic origin of Y15622+. The next pie charts are in the following order: Branch Y15622>Y16847>A7071 and Y22098 Ancestral Origins of Y15622+ (n=9) Paternal ancestry of Polish is quite weak, because oldest ancestry born 1873 in Prussia. Finns had historical connection with Courland and Estonia, so 9% portion of Y15622 is a natural. Although this mutation is 2000 years old, it s likely that it originated in Latvia. Ancestral Origins of Y16847+ (n=7)
Ancestral Origins of A7071+ (n=3) Ancestral Origins of Y22098+ (n=3) A7071 and Y22098 are youngest branches downstream from Y16847. The influence of Latvian origins increases from 77% to 84%. Ancestral Origins of Z16981+/Z16980- (n=7) BLR GBR BLR GBR This pie chart includes tested members of A2358, Z16981+/Z16980-, and experimental Z17082. Therefore all have in common that Z16980 is negative. These oldest branches of Z16981+ balts are strongly Latvians. If we were to add here Russians and Belarusians [16 %], we can then guess that the Z16981 mutation has evolved from M2783 in Latvia or before immigration in Belarus direction.
Ancestral Origins of Y11882+ (n=6) UKR MOLDOVA MDA UKR Ancestral Origins of Y24601+ (n=2) 100 % Genetic branch of Y11883+ looks very strange with main origin Moldova. At the same time, it brings reality that this used calculating formula can show easy very uncertain results. In this case we have only one result from Moldavia and this ancestral information extends just to 1878(?), in addition to this, so fat there are only 136 Moldova ydna results. But the other way, younger SNP, like Y24601+ can indicate well the origins. Naturally, this is still very speculative and has many uncertainties, as is the case with all other pie charts in this analysis. But any way, I think this novel manipulation of numerical data in the sub clades gives us a fresh and interesting way of viewing the matter.
Finally, here are some facts of Z16981+ countries. It s easy to find factors, which cause uncertainty of determining the Baltic origins: The column YDNA/12 tells how many YDNA tests exist in FtDNA database. The column tested-% shows how large a percentage of each population was tested and the last column N1c1 tells us how large a percentage of the population belongs to N1c1 haplogroup.
