Sewing Sew using a ¼ seam allowance with right sides together (RST) unless otherwise indicated. Always press towards the darker fabric while assembling, unless otherwise noted by the arrows. Block Assembly 1. Place (1) 3 ½ abric E square on the left side of (1) 3 ½ x 6 ½ abric strip, right sides together (ig. 1). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper right corner to the lower left corner (ig. 1). lip open the triangle formed and press (ig. 2). Trim away the excess fabric from behind the triangle, leaving a ¼ seam allowance. 2. Place another 3 ½ abric E square on the right side of the 3 ½ x 6 ½ abric strip, right sides together (ig. 3). Sew across the diagonal of the square from the upper left corner to the lower right corner (ig. 3). lip open the triangle formed and press (ig. 4). Sew ¼ away from each side of the drawn diagonal line (ig. 6). Cut the two squares apart on the drawn diagonal line (ig. 7) to make (2) G units (ig. 8). Trim the G units to measure 3 ½ square. Press the runner top and 72 x 30 backing well. Layer backing (wrong side up), batting, pressed quilt top (right side up) and baste.
