Just like gardening, coloring is a creative activity that exercises your mind and relaxes your spirit. This book was created for all of the garden lovers out there, who want to enjoy creating a beautiful garden when the sun has set or the snow has fallen. You can even sit and color in the garden, using the blooms, sounds, and fragrances to inspire how you interpret each page. Choosing Paper You can certainly print it on any paper that you have, but a thicker weight paper that has some slight texture to it will give you the best coloring experience. Smooth paper is fine as well, as long as the paper is matte. Glossy paper will be difficult to color on. How to Print this Book Open this book on a computer connected to a printer. You can customize the printing to your needs, but I recommend that you print this book one sided, so that you have separate coloring pages to work with. 1. Choose File > Print. 2. Select a Printer and number of copies to print. (To print one copy of all pages, type 1 ) 3. Click Properties to open the printer properties and select paper type. Most standard paper will be the default setting, but if you have chosen a thick-weight artist-quality paper, you will want to select the setting that best matches that (ie: Premium). 4. Under Pages to Print, select an option: a. All - prints all pages in this book. b. Current page - prints the current page in the PDF book. c. Pages - specifies a subset of pages to print. You can enter individual page numbers, a range, or a combination. For example: 1, 6-12, 15. (To print all coloring pages but not the cover or instructions, type 5-17.) 5. Click Print. I worked with a variety of different artists to commission the drawings for this book. After searching for different styles and perspectives, I outlined some of the ideas I had for scenes that would appeal to gardeners and worked with the artists to bring them forth in their own style. The images are original artwork, created for Garden Therapy, and may not be reproduced other than through printing the book for personal use.
Adding color to the lush garden-themed art pages in this book can be a joyful and meditative activity. Color the images as you see them, the interpretation of the design is up to you! You can print them out as many times as you wish and color them differently each time. Here are some creative suggestions for coloring the images in this book: 1. Color the title page. It s a coloring page too! 2. Choose the color palette of your dreams. Make the beetles, birds, and berries all hues that you wish you could have in your garden. 3. Color to match your decor so you can frame and display some of the final artwork. 4. Use a fine, black, felt pen to draw in more critters (bees, birds, butterflies), flowers, or other personal elements. 5. Color the background of the Tulips image and leave the flowers and jars in black and white. Or color it all for a brilliant image. 6. Add a message to the sign on the Garden Gate image welcoming people to your garden. 7. Choose a seasonal theme for the Wreath with color: spring (pastels), summer (jewel tones), fall (warm autumn colors), winter (red and green). 8. Write in your favorite quote on the center of the last page. There are a number of coloring articles and resources on Garden Therapy that can accompany you on your coloring journey.
