ARRIS nd Accessories Wvelength Division Multiplexers WDMs re pssive opticl products tht enble simultneous trnsmission of two wvelengths in the 1310 nm region, the 1550 nm region, nd the CWDM region (1460 to 1620 nm), with options vilble for 20 db or 40 db of opticl isoltion between the two wvelength ports. For most inside plnt pplictions, ech WDM is pckged in smll, single width sheet metl enclosure, which mounts into n industry stndrd LGX style shelf, such s the ARRIS OS1000 opticl shelf. For LGX enclosures, ech WDM cn be used individully or it cn be mounted into nother enclosure suitble for mounting multiple pssive opticl products in hedend equipment rck. For most outside plnt pplictions, ech WDM is pckged in splice tube or flt box pckge, which is suitble for mounting in splice enclosure or fiber mngement try. For outside plnt pplictions, stndrd or user specified fiber pigtil lengths re provided, s well s vrious connector options nd fiber types (900 µm loose tube or buffered nd 3 mm jcketed). Fetures Allows simultneous trnsmission of opticl signls in the 1310 nm, 1550 nm, nd CWDM regions over one opticl fiber Low insertion loss with two vilble performnce grdes, stndrd nd high isoltion Avilble with stndrd connector options LGX style, splice tube, or flt box enclosure types Applictions In most system pplictions, the WDM will be used to combine signls in the 1310 nm region, the 1550 nm region, or the CWDM region (1460 to 1620 nm) onto single opticl fiber. WDMs re typiclly used to conserve fiber usge in system pplictions in which fibers re limited. WDMs cn be used for unidirectionl nd bidirectionl trnsport pplictions. Unidirectionl trnsport pplictions typiclly consist of two trnsmitters (1310 nd 1550 nm region), which re combined using the WDM onto single fiber nd sent to receiving node where the signls re demultiplexed, using nother WDM, nd sent to seprte receivers. Bidirectionl trnsport pplictions typiclly consist of end to end pplictions where trnsmitter nd receiver (1310 nd 1550 nm region) reside t ech end of the network nd re combined using WDMs for single fiber trnsport. For inside plnt pplictions, the WDM will typiclly be instlled in temperture controlled, inside plnt ppliction, such s hedend or hub site. For outside plnt pplictions, the WDM will typiclly be instlled in non temperture controlled environment, such s splice enclosure or node fiber mngement try.

ARRIS nd Accessories Opticl Switch The OSW series 1x2 opticl switch is n LGX style plug in module in single width enclosure comptible with the ARRIS OS1000 opticl shelf tht provides utomtic switching between signl sources. The opticl switch utosenses the loss of light on the ctive port nd toggles the optic switch, trnsferring from the ctive to the lternte port. OSW series opticl switches: crete self heling network rchitecture fcilitte utomtic nd cost effective network bckup nd redundncy, thus incresing system relibility nd reducing system down time support vriety of pplictions with its djustble optic threshold, 20 to 0 dbm rnge provide flexibility in opertion with remote monitoring nd dul operting modes This opticl switch is dul mode selectble. In Mode 1, Port A functions s the primry port nd, by design, offers higher qulity performnce thn the redundnt pth t Port B. If the light t Port A fils, the unit switches utomticlly to Port B. When the light is restored to Port A, the unit lso switches bck to Port A. In Mode 2, the performnce of the primry nd redundnt pths re equl. If the current ctive port is Port A nd the light fils, the unit switches utomticlly to Port B. When the light is restored to Port A, the switch remins in the redundnt position until the light t Port B fils. Then, the unit utomticlly switches bck to the primry Port A. Sttus LEDs indicte ctive port feeding switch output. The switch offers n opticl input rnge of 20 to 20 dbm. The entire module yields low insertion loss: 1.5 db typicl, 2.0 db mximum.
