TECHNICAL SESSIONS TAITHERM ADVANCED TRAINING SESSION WEDNESDAY 9:00-3:30PM You know the basics but now you want to learn how to make an even more efficient work flow in TAITherm. Advanced Training will help you achieve just that. In this session you will cover automated post-process reports, exporting directly to Powerpoint, implementing custom physics, user routines, and coupling. You ll also get to learn about capabilities for the upcoming Exhaust Module release. Join in and become a TAITherm expert! Facilitator: Steven Patterson HUMAN THERMAL IN AUTOMOTIVE SESSION WEDNESDAY 9:00-3:30PM You had your design dialed until you started testing with humans. Now you have significant design changes to make based on data you wish you could have had earlier. Save time and frustration by learning how to utilize the Human Thermal Module in your design process. This technical session will focus on models such as cabin warm-ups, cool downs, seat modeling, environmental factors, and other challenges such as physiology changes, clothing, and pre-condition scenarios. Get comfortable with this new technology and understand how to depict real-world human comfort in your upcoming projects. The session will be a mix of presentation and live demos. Facilitator: Josh Pryor & Mark Hepokoski

TAITHERM & GT-SUITE TECHNICAL SESSION COTHERM OVERVIEW TECHNICAL SESSION THURSDAY 9:00-3:30PM Gamma Technologies and ThermoAnalytics have teamed up to combine industry-leading technology for modeling passenger compartments and exhaust systems. In this technical session, learn how this coupling brings together all the best features from GT-SUITE and TAITherm to deliver fast, high-accuracy 3D thermal and flow modeling for transient cabin and exhaust models. Facilitator: Jon Juszkiewicz THURSDAY 9:00-3:30PM Customized scripting got you down? Dive into the CoTherm technical session and discover a new way to couple CAE tools and automate your work flow. CoTherm is an ambassador that facilitates the flow of information between CAE simulation products. Instead of working with complicated scripts, CoTherm lets you construct complex CAE coupling processes with an intuitive user interface allowing you to graphically monitor and automate your coupled simulation. In this session, you ll get a tour of the interface, walk through steady-state and transient coupling, and learn how to automate and alter your CAE processes. Facilitator: Josh Pryor

MEET THE PEOPLE REPRESENTING THERMOANALYTICS AT THIS YEAR S UGM. WE ARE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY OF YOUR QUESTIONS, BIG OR SMALL. Tony Schwenn ThermoAnalytics Sales Manager Tony Schwenn has been a part of the TAI family for 10 years. In the last two years, he has become the sales team manager where he focuses on department structure, process planning, and both international and domestic business development. With his background in engineering and years of experience with predictive comfort modeling, Tony is adept at discerning pain points, communicating solutions, and helping customer s solve their biggest problems. At ThermoAnalytics, Craig is the vice president of Commercial Products & Services. He sets the product strategy and drives execution. Working closely with all departments, he confirms that product development & strategic partnerships are aligned with our business goals. Craig ensures that TAI remains on the cutting edge, but more importantly works to serve up the best software for our customers. Craig Makens ThermoAnalytics VP, Products & Services Cassandra Wagner ThermoAnalytics Marketing Manager Cassandra has been a part of the TAI family for four years. She has recently transitioned into the role of Marketing Manager where she spends most of her time managing projects and captaining the marketing ship in terms of budget & strategy. Cassandra is also responsible for the coordination & planning for our User Group Meeting. Her innovative personality has helped us to drive many strategic changes for both the company and our ever-growing UGM.

CONFERENCE TEAM Katy Hickey ThermoAnalytics Technical Sales Rep Katy Hickey has been a member of the sales team for three years, where she has utilized her creative expertise and background in biomedical engineering to facilitate solutions and meet customer s needs. She recently earned her MBA from Michigan Technological University allowing her to better understand customer s business goals and objectives. Katy has an energy for problemsolving and a passion for people, making her a great person to connect with at this year s UGM. Steven Patterson has 11 years of experience working in the field of computational heat transfer across a variety of industries. At ThermoAnalytics, Steven serves as the team leader in charge of customer support and software training. Additionally, he continues to support projects involving thermal modeling, CFD analysis, simulation process development, and custom scripting. At this year s UGM, Steven will be presenting and also facilitating the introductory and advanced TAITherm training sessions. Steven Patterson ThermoAnalytics Team Leader, Support & Training Josh Pryor ThermoAnalytics Team Leader, Thermal & CFD Josh Pryor is the leader of the thermal and CFD analysis team, managing a variety of projects involving heat protection, thermal comfort, climate control, and other thermal applications. He has been a part of the TAI family for 10 years. During that time, he has worn many hats, contributing to everything from modeling to managing projects and supporting customers. Presenting at every UGM since 2011 makes Josh a veteran presenter.

Jon Juszkiewicz ThermoAnalytics Thermal & CFD Engineer Jon Juszkiewicz is a thermal and CFD engineer at ThermoAnalytics specializing in the development of transient processes. Daniel Woodford ThermoAnalytics Thermal & CFD Engineer Mark Hepokoski ThermoAnalytics Director, Advanced Research At ThermoAnalytics, Mark is the principal investigator for all human thermal modeling projects. He has over ten years of experience developing a complex model of human thermo-physiology, which is widely used in the thermal modeling community for predicting human thermal sensation/ comfort, human effectiveness, and human IR signatures. His doctoral research was on the development of an in situ measurement device for obtaining material thermal properties. You can find Mark at the Human Thermal technical session at this year s UGM.

THANK YOU to our sponsors for helping us put on a wonderful event.

Exa has developed a tightly integrated thermal solution that has automated coupling between PowerTHERM thermal solver and the PowerFLOW fluid dynamics software to solve a wide range of problems. Exa offers a suite of programs that deliever advanced preand post-processing capabilites and much more. Thermetrics manufactures the thermal controlled test manikin, NEWTON, which can be integrated and controlled using our ManikinPC human thermal simulation software. In recent years they have added two new manikins, HVAC and STAN, utilized for cabin comfort testing and seat testing respectively. Thermetrics manikins integrate tightly with TAITherm and the Human Thermal Module.
