They will be prayed for by the World Meeting of Families and by the Sister Servants of the Holy Spirit of Perpetual Adoration. (Email intentions to: info@worldmeeting2015.org) BULLETIN BOARD We are planning an activity for our September Kick-off Event which will also turn into a bulletin board display. Each family will be invited to color a candle and write their family name on it. We will then roll them into cylinders and staple them to a bulletin board under a banner reading World Meeting of Families: We lay our family at the feet of the Holy Family. Candle clip art can be found on pages 4-5 of this packet. Simply print and cut the pages in half to begin. A colorful variation of this activity could be done with construction paper candles and paper flames glued on top. Intentions at the Papal Mass Since some members of our staff are planning to be at the event, it will be possible for us to physically carry family intentions to the Papal Mass on September 27. In preparation, at our fall parish Kick-off Event we will invite families to write their intentions on the cards we provide. After writing their prayer request, they can fold them in thirds and seal them for privacy. We simply plan to put them into a manila envelope and bring them to Mass with us to be lifted up with the other Mass intentions. See page 6 for the printable Intention Card page. There are 3 cards on the page. Simply print, cut them apart and distribute to your families. Speaking of the Papal Mass... It is almost certainly going to be broadcast on EWTN and online, possibly on www.catholictv.com. No one has the details for this yet, but once they re available it would be easy to share directions for watching. If you re really motivated and have the resources, it would be fun to make the viewing into a parish social event! Preparation with the Holy Father Did you know that Pope Francis has been talking about family life during his most of his Wednesday audiences lately? So far there are 17 parts on lots of topics ranging from siblings to education. It s very easy to combine these into a simple decoration for your families to display on their prayer tables during the event. In addition, consider providing each family with a blessed candle to light during the Mass. Decorations LARGE SCALE IMAGES We re not yet sure what we ll do with them, but there are some very large images available that will probably be useful for decorating. You d be able to get a more professional piece by going through a printer, but except for a little time and the cost of a few copies, this is essentially free for us.
