A brilliant colorist and innovative draftsman,baroccireinterpretedtraditionalreligiousnarrativesincompellingways.heinventednewdrawingtypes,andwasoneof thefirstitalianartiststousepastelandoilpaintinhisdrawings,therebyincorporatingcolorintohisstudies.theexhibitiongrouped preparatorystudieswithfinishedpaintings,enablingvisitorstoseehowbaroccidevelopedcompositions,lighting,expression,and gesture.
