Come join us during the celebration. It s our time to show our appreciation to our customers for your continued support. There will be a free gift for each customer, refreshments, in store specials, free demos, and this year our raffle will be for a two night stay with six guests at our Bittersweet Vintage Retreat. More info will come in February. After many months of working on my Featherweight Case Cover pattern it s finally finished! We received Copyright right before Christmas and it s now available in the shop. We also have kits available in the Singer fabric that include the pattern, all fabric and fusible fleece for $ 43.99, this is kit #1. Kit #2 includes Singer fabric and pattern for $35.99. The Singer fabric is shown on the front cover of the pattern. The pattern is easy to make and should only take 4-5 hours to finish. It s been tested seven times for accuracy and testers said it was easy to follow the pattern. For those of you who would like to make it in a classroom here are the dates. Bring basic sewing supplies, two 1-2 buttons, and kit with pattern. Dates: Feb. 9th from 10:30-3:30 or Wed. March 22nd from 10-3 Fee: $15 Instructor: Tina Cube Bag: This bag is adorable and can be used to carry your supplies for sewing or as a purse. It uses a Layer Cake, 10 squares. The bag includes 4 drop-in pockets, a zipper pocket, magnet closure, and ribbon to close the top. One Layer Cake makes two bags! Supplies needed: pattern, Layer Cake, 1 yard Fusible Fleece, piece of foam board or plastic (9 1/4 ) for bottom of bag, 3/4 magnet clasp, coordinating ribbon, thread, and zipper. Basic sewing supplies and zipper foot. Before you come to class divide your fabric into two groups. What will be your outside and what will be the inside of the bag. You will only make one bag in class, but you will have enough remaining from the Layer Cake to make a second bag. Instructor: Kathy Dates: Wed., Jan. 18th or Tues., March 14th from 10-4 Fee:$15 Just Another Walk in the Woods Contest Stop in the shop between January 9-21st and vote on your favorite doll. Customers picked up their panel a few weeks ago and have until January 6th to return their embellished dolls. Two age groups for submitting your dolls: children ages 5-13 and 14-adult. Customers can vote once in each group. Winners will win a $50 gift card to the shop. All dolls remain the property of the maker. These dolls are a great way to introduce sewing to a

2016/2017 Mystery Quilt by Border Creek Station and Moda! This group of quilters started in October. This is a reminder to members of our 2017 dates. Dates: Dec. 28th, Jan. 25th, Feb. 22nd, Mar. 29th, April 26th & May 31 The Reveal Day and luncheon will be on June 28th. Super Hero Contest! These super cute dolls, Lil Super Hereos, will arrive the end of January. They are printed on toweling by Moda, and come in a bag. They are similar to the dolls we ve had in the past. Fun to make for you or a child. Our Super Hero Contest begins as soon as the dolls arrive. Purchase the dolls and go to town with making them your own. Embellish them however you would like. To enter the contest register your name and number at time of purchase. Dolls will need to be returned by March 1st. Customers will vote on their favorite doll, one vote per customer until March 13th. Winner will receive a $50.00 gift card to the shop. Dolls must be picked up by March 29th. If you would like to donate your doll they will be given to U of M Children s Hospital in Ann Arbor. Date: Tuesday, March 21st Large Cream Wool Tree Many of you wanted me to teach the large wool tree. This tree will be custom at 24 tall and full of wool branches. You will have homework before class, cutting your wool strips. I will show you how when you pick up your kit, they will be ready after February 1st. No sewing machine required! You ll need a sharp pair of scissors that have a sharp tip. I found that the Karen Kay Buckley 6 medium blue worked great. We do carry these in the shop if you would like a pair. I m only offering this class once due to it being a custom size. Class limit of 12. Fee includes everything you need to finish the project. Time: 10:00-3:00 Fee: $60 Instructor: Tina Little Red Six: This little quilt is a miniature and measures 12 x 14. The kit price is $22.95 and includes everything, including backing. Making miniature quilts is a little different than making a large quilt. Learn how to make it precise with Paulette. Bring your basic sewing supplies to class, along with thread and your kit. Fabric will need to be cut before class so we can get as much done as possible during class. Date: Thursday, February 2nd Time: 10:30-3:30 Fee: $15 Log Cabin Day: Have you ever wanted to make a Log Cabin quilt? This is a class for beginners or intermediate quilters. Sharon will show you how to make a 6 8 or 12 block using the Creative Grids Log Cabin ruler. She will also teach the Curvy Log Cabin ruler. It goes fast using the chain sewing method. She ll also share many lay out designs. Bring some scrap fabric or fabric for an entire quilt and learn how to make the blocks fast and precise. Bring basic sewing supplies and fabric of your choice. Date: February 14th Time: 10:30-2:30 Fee: $10

Our Final! 18 Tuffet Class: If you would like one for your home or to give as a gift, sign up today! Here is what you ll need to bring with you to class: 24-3 by 21 1/2 strips, with Pellon ShapeFlex fused to the back, 1/2 yd. fabric to cover bottom of the stool, 4 square for covered button, sewing machine, general sewing supplies, rotary cutter, 15 degree ruler, pattern, and large button to cover. We carry all of these supplies in the shop. They sell out regularly, so get them in advance. Tuffet supplies: 18 wood circle 1 thick, 4 pre-made legs with hardware to attach them, and one tuffet foam (foam is also available in the shop). All other supplies will be available in class. You will finish the project in class! Pick up the class supply list at the shop. Date: Tuesday, January 24th Time: 10:30-3:30 Fee: $25 Instructors: Sharon Singer Featherweight Clinic These two clinics will be our last until May! During this clinic we discuss history, maintenance, features of the machine, free motion quilting, and attachments. Please do not bring your machine with you on this day, we use our machines for demos. There will be machines, supplies, and attachments available for purchase on this day. Bring a note pad with you and any questions you would like to ask. Dates: Thursday, January 19th from 12-2 and Saturday, February 4th from 11-1 Fee: $5.00 Instructor: Monte/Carol Open Sew: We have added a few Saturdays! Bring your unfinished projects, or begin a new one. The retreat area is open for you and a few friends. Use our cutting mats, irons & boards, bring a lunch and enjoy the day. Reservations are required due to a limit of 12, no fee. Dates: Saturday, January 14th from 10-2:30, Thursday, January 12th, 10-4 Saturday, February 11th from 10-2:30, Thursday, February 23rd from 10-4 Saturday, March 25th from 10-2:30, Thursday, March 23rd from 10-4 Easy Sew Pajama Pants/Shorts: Make a pair in flannel or cotton, easy as can be. Make them for yourself or a friend. We will have the book for adult and child sizes. A supply list will be given when you pick up your pattern book. Depending on the size you are making will determine the amount of fabric you ll need. Make-them/Takethem home that day! Date: Wednesday, February 8th Time: 10:30-2:30 Fee: $10 Just a Reminder: Class fee s are non-refundable unless we need to cancel due to weather or lack of participation. Also, please feel free to bring drinks, snacks, or lunch for longer classes. Weather Cancelation: If we need to close the shop or cancel a class due to weather it will be posted on our telephone voicemail by 8:30 am. Call 989-879-1900 and listen to our voicemail message.

Hunter s Star: This block is famous for all the variations you can create. Deb Tucker s new book Hidden Treasures shows over 30 different quilt recipes with this block. Sharon will teach you how to use the ruler and get perfect blocks each time. You will need one of the Rapid Fire Hunter s Star Template s, there are two different sizes. Bring your basic sewing supplies and pick up the fabric requirements sheet at the shop. Dates: February 7th from 10:30-3:30 Fee: $15 Clutch Bag: 1940 s wartime inspired clutch bag. Great in wool or cotton, you choose. This clutch is great for holding your phone, keys, and small wallet. Use an antique button that you ve been saving for that special project. Bring 1/3 yard of three different fabrics, 1/4 yard Shape Flex, 1 magnetic snap set, button, and basic sewing supplies. Make it in class and use it to go home. Dates: Friday, March 24th from 10-2 Fee: $10 Instructor: Tina Wool Workers: This is a group of women who have been working on wool projects for the past four years with me. We have room to add six new ladies. We work on projects of our own choice and help each other with special stitches. We will begin the project Bringing Home the Tree by Buttermilk Basin beginning in January. A sample of the project will be available on January 9th, our first class. You can begin this project during the class or bring your own project. The fee is for six months. Dates: First Monday of the month unless stated otherwise. Jan. 9th, Feb. 6th, March 6th, April 3rd, May 1st, and June 5th. Time: 10:00-2:00 Fee: $25 Instructor: Tina Farm Girl Vintage: This class is a continuation of our group who began this fall. On January 10th we will hold an all day sew for those in our group. Please bring a dish to pass and all your sewing supplies. We will begin at 10:00 am and sew until 8:00 pm. Pizza will be provided for dinner. If you can t make the entire day come when you can! Our regular schedule for 2017: Tuesday, Jan. 31st, Feb. 28th, March 28, April 25, and May 30th Choose 10:30-12:30 or 6:00-8:00

Mariners Sunflower Compass: This class will be offered in the 2nd quarter of the year. It s a beautiful and unusual quilt using the Skinny Robin ruler. Watch for the sample in the shop soon. Baby Day: Need some ideas for baby gifts. Come to class and learn to make a changing pad, bib, and burp cloth. Bring basic sewing supplies with you along with two, one yard pieces of coordinating flannel, good quality. You ll also need 1/2 yard of diaper cloth, sold in the shop. Date: Monday, February 20th Time:10:30-2:30 Fee: $10 Studio 180 Design Day: Have you ever used one of Deb Tucker s rulers? They are fantastic, and so precise. Sharon will demonstrate how to use many of the rulers on this day. If you have a ruler bring it with you, along with basic sewing supplies and scrap fabric. We ll also have her patterns available. Date: Wednesday, March 15th Time: 10:30-3:30 Fee: $15 Bittersweet Vintage Retreat: The retreat has been up and going now for one year. We ve made progress all through the year. Now it s finally complete and booking retreats for 2017 and 2018. If you would like to put a group of friends together of at least six and no more than 10 we have room for you.
