B6- (16, 27, 32) without any CNC slide B6- (16, 27, 32) NC-S with one CNC slide ( X1 - Z1 ) B6- (16, 27, 32) NC-W with two CNC slides ( X1 - Z1 + X2 - Z2 ) B6- (16, 27, 32) NC-T with three CNC slides ( X1 - Z1 + X2 - Z2 + X3 - Z3 ) Easy set-up. No cams are used. The CNC operation completely eliminates the need for expensive, time-consuming designing, manufacture, and verification of cams. The typical set-up of even a very complicated part can be completed in less than three hours. 3 4 NC control is optionally available for the End Tool Post, Cross Slide, C and Back Spindle for even easier and more accurate feed control. NC Slide Utilizing Shimada s Automatic Index Error Compensation and CNC slides, high precision machining is a snap. The CNC tool post(s) simplify complicated contouring, single point threading, or other highly-precise operations. As with any CNC, the dimensional requirements are easily maintained with use of the tool offsets. 5 6 Spindle The spindle bearing ID is 70mm (2 ¾ ), largest in its class, and sufficiently robust enough to support even the heavier work pieces. Bar Feeder An Automatic Bar Loading System comes standard with each bar feeder. With a 3.3M (130 ) bar length capacity, the loading system incorporates a shock absorber which ensures that even large diameter bars reach the loading station smoothly and without jamming. Bar remnants are automatically ejected at the rear end of the loader. The system includes an automatic, pre-programmed inching device to feed the new bar a few millimeters beyond the cut-off tool so the bar s rough end can be faced off. Diameters 7 Bar Feeders are to be chosen from IEMCA or PIETRO CUCCHI brands. Tooling Various optional tooling attachments are available to further maximize the machine s efficiency. These can include a tapping attachment, a thread rolling attachment, a high speed drilling attachment, or even independent feed of end tools. Shimada expertise can solve every machining difficulty. 8 9 The B6 Series incorporates a large machining zone and chip floor in a small footprint. Shimada s B6-NC models are equipped with highly reliable Fanuc drives and motors and are operated by a user-friendly Fanuc control. Castings and all internal components are of Japanese origin and meet stringent JIS requirements. 3
