Getting Started * Read the entire pattern before beginning. * All seam allowances are 3/8 unless otherwise stated. * Finish seams with a serger or zigzag stitch to reduce fray. * Pre-wash fabric, particularly knit, to prevent shrinkage. * When instructed, topstitch your garment to lock seams in place. To topstitch, increase the stitch length to 3.0. Stitch 1/8 away from the folded edge and directly over the seam. * Optional topstitching will always be specified. * To gather, increase the sewing machine tension and stitch length to the highest settings. Leave a 5 to 10 thread tail and stitch ¼ from the raw edge. Do not backstitch at the end, but instead leave another 5 to 10 tail. Adjust the gathers. *This pattern is written to describe each step in detail from shoulder to hem. To reduce the time needed to construct the dress you can re-arrange the construction sequence to create & hem the ruffles first, then construct the dress. A great time saving tip when making multiples dress is to do a production line for separate pieces and construct last. Recommended Fabrics: * Main Dress & Bodice Lining: STURDY knit fabrics with a 2-way or 4-way stretch and good recovery * Skirt Lining must be made from a WOVEN fabric (cotton) * Ruffles: Voile, Lawn, Tulle, Lace, Cotton, Knit 3 *Basic sewing supplies *Knit sewing needle *Optional: Stretch thread for the bobbin *Optional: Wash Away Wonder Tape Notions & Supplies Pattern Pieces Printing, Cutting & Assembly Instructions * PS&C patterns are layered, providing the option to print one or more sizes at once. * When printing, make sure to select Auto portrait/landscape and 100% scale boxes. * Select the pattern pages to print. * Once printed, match up symbols and tape pattern pieces together. A visual depiction of the pattern layout will be provided with the cutting instructions. * Pages can be trimmed to black border or used without trimming *Page numbers are numerical from top to bottom *Page letters are matched alphabetically from left to right *Pages meet to make complete circles Peppermint Dress Pattern Petite Stitchery & Co.

Printing specific pattern sizes * Open the pdf pattern. * On the far left side of the screen is a layers button (two diamond shapes layered on top of each other). Click this button. * Every size will have a black oval in the box. This means all sizes will print. De-select the sizes that are not needed by clicking the box. Do not de-select the Must Print box. 4 Fabric Cutting Guide Peppermint Dress Pattern Petite Stitchery & Co.

Customizing the fit for this pattern 6 This dress was designed to have a lose and comfortable fit. To create a dress that is closer to the skin you can go down a size for the width, as knit will have nice stretch. Make it your own! The look of this dress can be altered from a ruffle party dress to sleek and sophisticated lace trimmed dress with a few minor adjustments. For the fun and flirty ruffle use the FULL Ruffle cut lengths. For a toned down and more polished look use the SLIGHT Ruffle cut lengths.
