Tyler Wade President 2012 (916) 607-1976 tyler.wade@ppldev.com Tyler is looking forward to 2012 and another successful year of growth and engaging professional programs for the Sacramento Chapter of the ASTD. Tyler s goals for 2012: 1) Continue the chapter growth effort to reach a dynamic chapter of 300 members, 2) Focus on a high-quality, comprehensive program calendar, including a 2012 Employee Learning Week, and bringing back the very popular Trainer Throwdown and E- Learning DemoFest. 3) Continue the focus on e-learning and related trends in workplace learning and performance. 4) Strengthen our Special Interest Group (SIG) relevance and involvement. 5) Support the 2012 Board in their efforts to help the ASTD Sacramento chapter improve it value and service to you! Tyler has served the Sacramento Chapter of ASTD for three years: two as Director of Programs and President-Elect in 2011. Tyler works as a training consultant with People Development Systems in Sacramento. His experience includes needs assessment, training development and delivery, and program management for public and private sector clients. He is co-author of The New Supervisor s Coach, a guidebook for new supervisors, and a follow-up e-book entitled Coaching the Toxic Employee. 1

Bruce has enjoyed the past year as President of the Sacramento Chapter. It has been busy and rewarding as the chapter has grown in size and ambition. His focus in 2011 was on e- learning and high quality programming, often combining the two to great success. He is especially proud that his year as president included the hugely successful E-Learning DemoFest. Bruce Winner Past President 2011 (916) 563-3232 winnerb@losrios.edu Bruce is the Custom Training Manager for the Los Rios Community College District s Training Source and Government Training Academy. Bruce has 30 years of diverse experience in the field of training and development including developing hundreds of custom courses for business and government, founding and running a school for microbrewers, and breaking oxen in West Africa for 6 years. (He claims the oxen were amongst his most amenable clients to date.) In 2011, Mike organized our hugely successful E-Learning DemoFest. He continues his involvement in the Sacramento Chapter as a Special Project Leader in 2012. Mike has an M.P.A. from Shippensburg University; a B.A. from CSUS; and a Certificate in Web-based learning from the University of CO. He is the principal consultant with Organizational Development Services Plus and consults with the CA Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation and is the lead Instructional Designer for its Sergeant and Lieutenant Academies. Heather has been an active member and board member of ASTD for four years. As Director of Membership, she enjoyed the focus on new members and retaining members. This will mark her second year as Director of Finance. Her experience as a Business Analyst at Intel for three years as well as five years working for financial organizations suit her to the role: she is eager to help manage the Sacramento Chapter s budget. Heather Rico Director of Finance (916) 705-1474 heather.rico@ppldev.com Tom has been an ASTD member since 2005 and in fall 2011 joined the Sacramento ASTD chapter board. As the Program Director, Tom implemented a member survey and has used the feedback from the chapter membership to create the 2012 programs. He is proud of the increase in attendance at the ASTD events as well as the consistent high praise reflected in the program evaluations. Since 2000 Tom has worked at the City of Sacramento in training, organization development and special events and he currently serves as the City Wellness Coordinator. Tom also teaches undergraduate courses in the School of Business at the University of Phoenix in his spare time. Tom won the Sacramento ASTD Chapter 2011 Trainer Throwdown as OD Elvis. 3

A member of the Sacramento Chapter of ASTD for the past 2 years, this is Erin s first year on the board. She is looking forward to help the chapter gain new members and honoring long time members. Erin graduated from the University of La Verne with a Bachelor s degree in Biology. For the last 8 years she has been with the California Primary Care Association, a non-profit trade association for community clinics and health centers, and has taken over the oversight of their statewide training program. She is also responsible for most of the technology training for the staff internally. Dr. Hiner enjoys over 30 years experience in education, healthcare, and technology. He has worked for major universities as teacher and administrator and has served in senior roles for industry leaders such as The Content Group and IBM, leading successful elearning, content, and knowledge management projects. Dr. Hiner has recently focused on healthcare, and has assisted in addressing some of the pressing issues facing the industry in the 21 st century by applying principles of postmodern organizational learning. Dr. Lawrence Hiner Director of Communications (916) 709-0737 lawrence.hiner@jhu.edu In 2007, he completed requirements for a Psy.D. in Organizational Psychology at PSP, including a dissertation on innovation and leadership. Dr. Hiner has earned national certifications as Counselor and Executive Coach. 4

Arthur is new to the board this year and is a first-year member of the National and Sacramento ASTD Chapter. He is excited to take on his role as the Director of Marketing and looks forward to the growth and new developments for the ASTD Sacramento Chapter. Art Cruz Director of Marketing (916) 479-1774 artcruz@gmail.com Arthur started graduate school in 2009 at AMU and graduated with honors this year with his MBA in Marketing. He has a broad work history which includes speed conditioning trainer, fitness trainer, summer school administrator, Head Coach, Health Educator, Business Development and Marketing Intern, and E- learning Instructor. Arthur is a Health Educator teaching Health I and Health II in a traditional, blended and E-learning format for the public sector. Marsha Mobley Kilian s thinking is wholistic; Her interventions enable teams to see the big picture and respond more creatively. Inspired and purposeful employees then move in practical and pragmatic ways to focus daily work activities toward their organization s inspired vision. Everyone wins. Strategic Planning, Marketing, Training and Organization Development make up her tool kit and examples of her experience range from managing a corporate, nation-wide change effort to opening a charter school and consulting with non-profits. Marsha has founded several organizations and served on local and national boards. Positive change is what excites her. 5

As an experienced association and nonprofit leader, Beth Kang is committed to training and development for achieving results within organizations. In 2011, Beth supported the Sacramento ASTD Chapter by volunteering during the Chapter first annual E-Learning Demo. When the Chapter s Board held its mid year strategic planning/mini-retreat, Beth facilitated this session for the Board and made many great connections with the Chapter s Leadership. After attending ASTD s National Chapter Leadership Conference, Beth is eager to increase our ASTD chapter s visibility in the Sacramento region by working to promote National Employee Learning Week. 2012 promises to be a productive and enjoyable year for our chapter! Beth Kang Director of Special Events (916) 494-8359 beth@homeaidsac.org Beth uses her training and facilitation skills with associations, nonprofit organizations and volunteers; supporting groups in creating ideas, developing programs and solutions using visual tools and her creativity. Beth has more than 20 years experience as a trainer and has developed training programs and materials for the public and private sector throughout the United States. Currently, Beth is the Executive Director for HomeAid Sacramento. HomeAid s mission is to build and maintain dignified housing where homeless families and individuals can rebuild their lives. In addition to belonging to ASTD, Beth is a member of the California Society of Association Executives and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. 6

Having been a member of the Sacramento Chapter of ASTD for three years, Judy is getting her feet wet this year on the Board as the Finance Associate. Judy Isaman Finance Associate (530) 823-8112 jgisaman@aol.com Judy has an undergraduate degree in e- business, a master s in organization development and is a certified Human Capital Strategist. Judy has held roles in employee development and training, diversity, and manufacturing and quality for Fortune 500 companies in the automotive and high tech industries. Using a collaborative consultative approach, Judy is currently a business development consultant working with local and global organizations by aligning talent with the development and execution of organization strategies. She also volunteers as a career coach and workshop designer for Bayside s Job One Program Recognized at Intel Corporation as a high performing instructor, Judy also received an Intel WOW EM honorable mention for her global cultural diversity awareness game, Let's Talk Business. Trudy has been a member of the Sacramento Chapter for several years. Her professional experience in the health care industry spans 18 years and includes: two as a vendor to health plans supporting utilizations management services for high end diagnostic services; six years as a project manager and ten years experience with increasing responsibility in the development and delivery of training products related to Information technologies and software applications for the health care industry. Trudy Currier Special Projects 916-861-1693 tcurrier@delta.org She also has ten years experience in public education in both direct delivery to students with special needs and as a program specialist providing consultation, technical assistance, grants management, and in-service presentations to persons serving individuals with special needs. She most recently served as Chair for the recent, successful Fundamentals of Training seminar. 7

Jeanette has over 25 years of successful experience as a consultant, serving customers in international manufacturing, health care, public utilities, municipalities, law enforcement agencies, and state government. Her expertise includes: Lean manufacturing and methods for continuous improvement, organizational development, management and supervisory development, coaching individual or team excellence, creative approaches to group process and problem solving, training of trainers, and conducting large scale systems change.
