Keynote Speakers Norman Doidge Norman Doidge, M.D. is the author of the recent New York Times best-seller The Brain that Changes Itself. He is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, researcher, author, essayist and poet, and is on the Research Faculty at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research in New York, and the University of Toronto s Department of Psychiatry. Evian Gordon Evian Gordon, Ph.D., CEO, Brain Resource Company has been director of the Brain Dynamics Centre at Westmead Hospital for over 10 years, and is the founder of the centre s integrative approach to neuroscience. He published the first book on integrative neuroscience and its application to clinical research. Craig Hassed Craig Hassed, MBSS, Monash University is a General Practitioner and Senior Lecturer at the Monash University Department of General Practice. His teaching, research and clinical interests include mindfulness-based stress management, mind-body medicine, holistic healthcare, health promotion and medical ethics. Matthew Lieberman Matthew Lieberman, Ph.D., UCLA is one of the founders of the social neuroscience field. He is currently the Associate Professor at UCLA Department of Psychology and head of the social neuroscience lab at UCLA. David Rock David Rock is an author and global leadership consultant, with clients including EDS, HSBC, AIG and NASA. He coined the term NeuroLeadership and founded the first NeuroLeadership Summit, and along with Jeffrey Schwartz wrote one of the central papers to launch the field. Jeffrey M. Schwartz Jeffrey M. Schwartz, M.D., UCLA is a well known American scientist and author, seminal thinker and researcher in the field of neuroplasticity. He is the author of almost 100 scientific publications and books, including The Mind and the Brain and the best-seller Brain Lock. 10

Summit Facilitator Art Kleiner Art is a writer, lecturer, and consultant with a background in management, interactive media, corporate environmentalism, scenario planning, and organisational learning. He is a co-author (with Peter Senge et al.) of the best-selling Fifth Discipline Fieldbook, The Dance of Change, and Schools That Learn; and author of Who Really Matters: The Core Group Theory of Power, Privilege, and Success. Panelists & Presenters Chris Blake Chris joined National Australia Bank in September 2006 as the Executive General Manager, People & Organisational Development, Australia. In this role he is responsible for leading and implementing people initiatives across the business, and developing both individual and organisational capability to help transform the culture and bring the NAB brand to life through its people. Prior to joining NAB, Chris spent 20 years with PricewaterhouseCoopers, the last ten of these as a Partner. Dr. Néstor Braidot Néstor has extensive experience in training, research and teaching in the field of Applied Neuroscience. He is a pioneer in the application of the workings of the human brain to the areas of professional and company management. He is a prestigious international professor and lecturer at the most prominent academic centers of the world such as Uppsala University Business School (Sweden), University of Salamanca and University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain), Vienna University of Economics (Austria), Texas University (USA) and Business University of Lyon (France). He is also responsible for creating the consulting team Braidot Group, and runs the Brain Decision Braidot Centre and the Center of Research of Applied Neuroscience and Projection of the National University of La Plata (Argentina). 11

Sophie Crawford-Jones Sophie is the Human Capital Leader for PricewaterhouseCoopers, and a member of the Firm s Executive. She is responsible for leading the Human Capital team to partner with the business and develop a clear people strategy that maximises the performance of the firm. Since joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2003, Sophie has also held the role of Director of Performance sitting across all PricewaterhouseCoopers business lines, as well as overseeing Remuneration, Partner Human Capital, and Policy & Programs teams. Ruth Donde Ruth has extensive leadership experience across multiple large organisations. As regional manager for Results Coaching Systems New Zealand she now runs wide scale coaching culture projects with clients including IAG and DB Breweries. Ruth is a lecturer at AUT University s MBA program, and has written and presented papers at many global conferences. Shelley Evans Shelley is managing director of Unique People Pty Ltd, a boutique consultancy assisting business people access the world s best practices in leadership and management. Shelley is trained in some of Australia s most revered and sophisticated analytical tools and strategies that track the inner drivers of human behaviour. Danielle Fraillon Danielle joined Mettle as Director of the Melbourne office in 2007. Prior to joining Mettle she spent eight years with RogenSi International, where she was a director and global practice leader in the Driving Change and Performance area. Danielle has a background in Senior Management in both PR and Marketing, as well as seven years in the Health & Science sectors. Richard Hill Richard is an expert in the Dynamics of Human Behaviour. He is thoroughly involved in the new knowledge and theories about the mind and the brain and how these can be translated into the corporate experience. Richard believes that business can gain great benefit by refocussing their attention on the real bottom line of business people. Dr. Faye Lambert Faye is Deputy Head at St. Michael s Grammar School (K-12), a coeducational Anglican School in Victoria. After attending the first NeuroLeadership Summit (Italy), Faye has incorporated insights derived from brain research and positive psychology into St Michael s curriculum and organisational development processes. Faye has presented both nationally and internationally. Katharine McLennan Katharine McLennan is a Principal of Heidrick & Struggles in their Leadership Development practice and the Executive Director of the NeuroLeadership Institute. As a Leadership Consultant, Katharine has facilitated, led, taught and coached for diverse organisations including PricewaterhouseCoopers, Sydney Olympics, Mettle, Booz Allen & Hamilton, and the YWCA of NSW. She uses the principles of NeuroLeadership to help in coaching these organisations in driving transformational change and executive leadership team development. 12

Hamish McMaster Hamish is an organisational development executive with 10 years of global experience in strategic planning, business partnering and aligning organisational development strategy to business strategies. Hamish has worked with leading organisations including Deloitte in New Zealand and most recently in Boston in the USA. He has also worked in senior management roles in the public sector in New Zealand, at Auckland Healthcare. Dr. Lorimer Moseley Lorimer is a clinical neuroscientist at Oxford University, UK. He undertakes research into how and why we experience pain, with a particular emphasis on the mind-brain-body relationship. He has written over 65 articles and two books, has delivered keynote addresses at medical and health conferences in 15 countries, and consults to government and private organisations in Europe and North America. His work has received widespread media attention, including The Times, BBC television and radio, ABC USA, Scientific American, New Scientist and Science. He is currently in Sydney writing his third book. Andrew Mowat Andrew has extensive leadership experience in the Victorian government education system in Australia, as a secondary school leading teacher and as a primary school principal. He has since had hundreds of hours of coach training and coaching experience. Delivering coaching and coach training to central, region and school-level leadership, Andrew is now heavily involved with assisting schools transform practice through coaching. Patrick Newell Patrick is the Co-founder & Vision Navigator of Tokyo International School and spends most of his time facilitating change and enhancing learning environments throughout the world. He focuses beyond the current ABCs of education through developing collaborative models in Technology, Learning, Board Governance, Accreditation, and Design. Patrick has been an educator in Tokyo for the past 16 years. Dr. Linda Page Linda is President and founder of Adler International Learning, and draws on her social science and professional education backgrounds to reach these conclusions: coaching is the practice of neuroscience theory, neuroscience is the theoretical platform for coaching, and both are expressions of a paradigm shift that has enormous implications for leaders. Dr. Carlos Raimundo Dr. Raimundo s extensive experience in the fields of business, philosophy, medicine, psychiatry and group training enables him to integrate the best of each. He guides individuals, executives and organisations through easy, practical steps towards new goals and directions. Michael Rennie Michael is the founder and global leader of McKinsey and Company s Organisation Behaviour practice. His work has drawn on available research in individual and organisational performance, including applying the emerging understanding of brain function to human performance in business. Michael has led large scale transformation programs in a number of McKinsey s leading clients globally. His work has now taken hundreds of thousands of senior managers globally through programs which include NeuroLeadership concepts. 13

Anne Riches Anne works internationally in 10 countries as well as with some of Australia s leading organisations including Qantas, AMP, Fosters, and Governments. She develops leaders and provides a system to effectively bring about organisational change. Anne has several degrees and postgraduate qualifications in law and change management. She has written over 100 publications including books, articles, papers and e-books. Victoria Sherwood Victoria leads the Organisational Change Practice within the ANZSEA region for Booz and CO. She has extensive experience working within professional consulting organisations and has held a number of operational and general management positions within industry. Victoria s range of experience spans strategy development, business transformation, change management, transition management, M&A activity, new ventures, multinational ERP & CRM systems implementation, risk management and project management. Dr. Lea Waters Lea is an Associate Professor in the Department of Management, Faculty of Economics and Commerce, University of Melbourne. She holds a Ph.D. in organisational psychology and has published in the fields of management, organisational psychology and education. Her work has been published and presented in the USA, Canada, Australia, Britian and Europe. In 2004 she was awarded the Australian and New Zealand Management Educator of the Year award. Prof. Robert Wood Robert is a Member of the School of Organisation and Management in the Australian School of Business and director of the Accelerated Learning Laboratory. His research interests include flexible expertise and knowledge based leadership, exploration and search strategies in problem solving and feedback effects on performance and learning. Robert s recent publications have appeared in Applied Psychology: An International Review, Journal of Applied Psychology, and the Australian Journal of Management. 14
