Fall/Winter 2017 After all these years it s hard to think this will be our final Christmas newsletter. We have enjoyed every bit of transforming the Garden Barn into the Christmas Barn full of treasures for your holiday decorating and gift giving. We hope you will be happy to see all the wonderful things we have this year. All Christmas items will be 40% off beginning at our Holiday Open House and all other gift shop merchandise will be 30% off throughout the holiday season. We are all looking forward to our new seasonal hours beginning April 3rd through June. The greenhouse will be bursting with plants for every spot in your garden. Plan Now for Christmas Luncheons in the Farmhouse We encourage you to invite friends or family to join you for good food and fellowship for the final seatings of our famous Quailcrest Farmhouse holiday lunches. Deborah and Ginna look forward to cooking up (one last time!!) their big pots of hearty soup, 3 different ones everyday. Served with a warm loaf of our traditional Ready for Lunch Herb Bread, lemon verbena tea, or flavored coffee and homemade cookies, you will go home happy. Tuesday through Friday, - Nov. 28th - Dec. 15th. 1 a.m. & 12:45 p.m. $12.00 Reservations Required 330-345-6722 Here s one of our favorite holiday soups not in our Soups n Such Cookbook! 6 slices thick bacon or pancetta 1 lg. onion, chopped 2 cans tomato soup 1 lg. can petite diced tomatoes 1 lg. can crushed tomatoes 6 C. chicken broth 1/4 C. chopped fresh basil 1 tsp. fresh rosemary, chopped 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes 1 loaf Italian bread, cubed Tuscan Tomato Sauté bacon until crisp. Add onion, sauté until tender. Add bread cubes and sauté until bread is crisp. Add broth, tomatoes, soup, herbs and spices. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer 10 minutes to blend flavors. Season with salt and pepper.

DEC. 2nd am Fill your moss lined wire hanging basket with a selection of holiday greenery, berries and cones, then accent it with ribbon if desired. Bring clippers. $18.00 TABLESIDE TIN TUCK-IN WED. DEC. 6th, am Adorable for tucking in anywhere, this old fashioned Christmas themed tin full of winter greens will brighten your holiday or make a great gift. We have a pair (actually they are both right feet) one red and one white to fill with Christmas greens and any little do dads we have around. A touch of ribbon, a touch of berry and you are done in 15 minutes!! Make one set of two boots for $10.00 or two sets for $16.00, Bring clippers. Great little hostess gifts!! WHITE WICKER WOODSY BASKET FRI., DEC., 8th pm Decorate a delightful wicker basket with a variety of greens, cones and dried materials. Ribbon tucks in the basket match the ribbon around the basket, your choice of a variety of ribbon. Bring clippers. $14.00 HURRICANE LAMP WREATH WE D. DEC 13th 10:00 am We will create an 8-10 fresh greens wreath out of a variety of greens; pine, arborvitae, taxus, boxwood and drieds,, add some cones and berries and ribbon then place an old fashion hurricane globe with votive in the center. Bring clippers, candle included. $18.00 THAT OLD WORKSHOP CONTAINER SAT. DEC. 9th am Bring in your old container, wreath back, vase, or containers from previous workshops and we ll have the greens, ribbons, cones and berries to fill it.
