May 2017 www.artassociationinroxbury.org Board Meeting at 6:30 PM General Meeting 7:15 Roxbury Senior Center, 72 Eyland Avenue, Succasunna NJ Looks like Spring has finally arrived, the leaves are coming out on the trees, everything is blooming and it s the perfect time to paint plein-air. Our Spring show at the Sussex County Judicial Center has filled up nicely. We look forward to viewing all of the beautiful art work at our reception on Tuesday, May 9. Please arrive at 6 p.m. with finger food. Thank you Carol Kouba, Mike Dziomba and all of the volunteers who signed up to help. It will be a terrific show. kinds of multimedia techniques turned into something unique, creative, fascinating and lovely. The types of things that can be done seemed endless and it looks like a lot of fun to try. This month we have a pastel demonstration by Elissa Prystauk, please visit her website and check out her beautiful pastel and oil paintings. At our last meeting Alice Harrison showed us how to create Altered Books. They were like small sculptures that started out as books but through all Looking towards next year we still have a few posts that need to be filled. The Program Chair position is still open and we really need someone to step up and help out with that area. All it involves is sending a few emails per month as we have a list of available artists who always seem receptive to giving demonstrations for us. We also need a publicity chair and someone to do website updates. Again, these positions don t require a lot of time at all and can be done from home at your convenience. Please consider volunteering for one of these positions as they are very important to the club. Also, as we get to the end of this year please consider taking a time slot for one of our gallery areas in the Roxbury library or the Rox/Pac Theater. Donna Kusama and Karen Tighe would appreciate

Page 2 The Palette News May 2017 having a few names on the roster for next year and I m sure many of us have a few extra paintings gathering dust at home. Bob has developed a national reputation as a painter, teacher and literary contributor to art magazines and has received numerous awards and honors for his artwork. His paintings have appeared in many exhibitions and juried art shows and are held in both private and corporate collections.
