We are currently in 8 cities and have recently crossed a 2400+ member milestone. We have launched 19 chapters in the last 12 months out of which 11 are Hall of Fame (a chapter which launches with 35+ members) chapters. Odyssey, Royale and Quartzz from Bangalore, Brios in Chennai, Champions in Goa, Sanskruti in Gurgaon, Artha, Businet and Capital in Hyderabad, Odyssey and Exponential in Mumbai are the chapters listed in the Hall of Fame. We also have Premier, Biz Angels, Pinnacle, Odyssey in Mumbai and Artha in Hyderabad which are Platinum chapters (a chapter having more than 50 members for 3 consecutive months). SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR MEMBERS? More members mean more opportunities for referrals to be passed. More positive energy in the group It becomes easy to invite more visitors. And we know that visitors contribute to a large amount of business in the chapter. Chapter Retention increases. Power teams are more likely to get stronger. More Business...More business...more Business According to Niiraj Shah, National Director - India, The strategy of a director should be to start with large numbers. A Hall of Fame is an international status and gives global recognition to the chapter. The next milestone for them should be to attain the Platinum status and be a part of the top 10% chapters in the world. This will help them pass 450-500 referrals and generate between ` 2 to ` 5 crores. These chapters will usually have well developed Power teams of 6-15 people generating 67% of their annual business at BNI. Out of a total of 481 regions worldwide, Mumbai is the #1 region in the world. We currently have 17 new chapters under formation and are looking to start in Kochi, Kolkata, Nashik, Jaipur and Coimbatore shortly. We are very excited and are working towards our goal of 1,00,000 members across 100 cities in India and help business owners generate more business through referrals. Our Online Directory allows you to search any member, category or profession all over India. To use this directory just log onto www.bni-india.com, scroll to the bottom of the website and select the respective Region (As shown in screenshot 1 below). BNI India is currently present in 8 regions in India and every region has their own website. Click on one of the cities below to go to the regional BNI website powered by BNI Connect www.bni-india.com After selecting the region you can find a member or business by using the appropriate keywords (As shown in screenshot 2 below). You will get a list of trusted members, who, you can get in touch with for your specific requirements and make the most of BNI s regional online directory. The great thing about this tool is that you don t need to log into BNIConnect to use this and it is open to the members of the public! Rather than contact a stranger through the yellow pages or equivalent, people will prefer dealing with a BNI member. It has only been 8 months for Mr. Sangam Khanna as a member of the Excellence chapter in Gurgaon and he has received business of more than `7 crores. Sangam Khanna Mr. Sangam Khanna from Insight Communications is a Capital Goods Supplier in Printing, Digital, Offset & Packaging. The givers Kunal Verma and Piyush Prakash have both given more than `3 crores of business to Mr. Sangam Khanna. The Excellence chapter in Gurgaon is less than a year old with 56 members and has generated more than `21 crores of business from January 2012 to September 2012. It is working on the philosophy of Giver s Gain and helping each other generate more business. We wish team Excellence all the best in their journey towards Success and Growth and are confident there will be more business given in the coming years! The Sweet Fruit of Patience This is the story of Kamlesh Sawant from the SYNRG chapter in Mumbai. He is into the business of manufacturing Industrial Water Treatment Systems. Knowing that Kamlesh Sawant & Pritesh Meisheri his business is very unique and technical, he still loved the structured way in which referrals could be generated through BNI and decided to join in June 2010. He took advantage of every 60 second presentation in the chapter meetings to educate his fellow members about his business. He did get a few referrals, however his first money slip of `1.5 lacs came in only after 10 months. This did not discourage him from renewing his membership as he believed that BNI will play an essential part in generating a steady income for him. In the second year of his membership, Mr. Pritesh Meisheri connected him to one of the subsidiaries of Bisleri. There were a series of technical checks but finally Mr. Kamlesh got entry into the company which otherwise would have been very difficult to get. Thanks to Mr. Pritesh s referral, Mr. Kamlesh has got business of `1.3 crores so far with more orders lined up in the coming months. Mr. Kamlesh s story is a perfect example of not losing hope and doing the things BNI teaches correctly. Because it will surely pay off!! India s First Chapter goes PLATINUM! Premier was the first chapter of India, launched with 10 members in November 2004. It has been through a remarkable journey over the years with a lot of ups and downs but the chapter always kept going strong! The Regional Director, Gopu Raman and the fantastic Leadership Teams always set goals for themselves and strived to achieve them at all times. Their next goal was to be Platinum (a chapter with 50+ members for 3 consecutive months) and it attained this prestigious recognition in June 2012. BNI BRANDING A new BNI Proud Member Logo We are very excited to introduce the new BNI Proud Member logo, a symbol which signifies that all our current members, directors and teams all over India and the world belong to one family. This unified strong branding will help our members to be recognised as part of a global network. It will also add more credibility to a chapter and also help communicate BNI values to the chapter visitors. Our current members can now use this logo on their websites, email signatures, social media pages or business cards etc. after seeking permission from the BNI office. We are also rolling out new Name Badges from 1st October 2012. There will be NO separate chapter logos or chapter name badges. Every chapter member will use the same format and this will allow members to easily identify name, profession and chapter. This will aid members in networking more effectively with other members at trainings and also with visitors in their own chapter. Please hand over your current Name Badges to your Regional Director or leadership team and get the new ones as soon as possible. Please Note as per our BNI Policy No.19 Other than the normal BNI printed materials, members may not use the BNI Intellectual Property (e.g. logos, trademarks, names, slogans, copyrighted materials, etc.) to manufacture, distribute, sell, market, or promote any product or service, or otherwise use the BNI Intellectual Property without obtaining the prior written consent of BNI HQ or the appropriate National Office. Average value of a referral= `26,213 Hyderabad West is India s fastest growing new region Hyderabad West is India s fastest growing new region with three chapters launched in 4 months and having 124 net new members. Artha, Hyderabad s first chapter was launched on 2nd May 2012 with 28 members and by its second launch on 8th May 2012 it entered the Hall of Fame chapters with 51 members. Within a record breaking 2 months, Hyderabad s second chapter, Businet was set to be launched on 3rd July 2012. Businet started with 29 members on its first launch and within no time was included in the Hall of Fame chapters with 41 members. Capital is the latest addition to the Hyderabad region and is also a Hall of Fame chapter. Bharath Shah Hyderabad currently has the highest average chapter size with over 48.5 members per chapter. The driving force behind Hyderabad s success is Mr. Bharath Shah, who is an extremely well known businessman in Hyderabad. His hard work, dedication and passion to add value to the local business community in Hyderabad has made it possible to create history. We are very excited to be working with him and will continue to support him in his goal of helping business owners to grow their business through referrals. BNI INDIA Centre of Global Excellence In June 2012, BNI India hosted a Directors Training in Mumbai which had more than 40 Directors from Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Vietnam, UK, UAE & Kenya. BNI India has been consistent with its outstanding performance and has set a brilliant example for others to learn and implement. We are very proud to share our best practices and impart knowledge to other countries and are looking forward to arrange more trainings in the future. 8 Minute Presentation not enough? Read on to know what SYNRG Mumbai did for their chapter Each member in BNI gets an opportunity to do an 8 minute presentation in their chapter, usually twice a year. But if it is a large chapter this opportunity to get more visibility may happen only once a year. At BNI we know that Visibility + Credibility will give you more business. So are you willing to take the risk of presenting only once a year? - was the question in the minds of the SYNRG Team. The team decided to have a presentation conclave where 20 members got an opportunity to do a 20 minute presentation. This enabled each member to talk about their business, services, display products and explain their business in detail. It was like having twenty 1-2-1s in a day. The members were also given special coaching in the chapter meetings so that they could learn and make the most of it on the final day. The outcome of this initiative was phenomenal as there were 96 referrals which were passed on the day and the members got a detailed understanding of each others business. Each member got more visibility and credibility from this activity and other members are more confident to recommend each one of them to their best clients. 6 O C T O B E R 2 0 1 2

WWW.BNI-INDIA.COM THE POWER OF POWER TEAMS A Fabulous showcase by Team Alpha Mumbai Mr. Shalin Gandhi from the Alpha chapter in Mumbai is into the business of manufacturing designer pens and has been an active participant at the GIFTS INDIA exhibition for the last 15 years. He has received an amazing response through this platform and this year he thought of asking his power team to join him as well. As the word spread, a total of 9 members in his power team joined him on the exhibition day. With each addition to the team there were changes on the stall size, in the layouts of the branding which would go up on the stalls etc. However, they worked as a team and cooperated with each other so that they could put up a great show on the exhibition day. The result was breathtaking. During this 4-day event each member was able to introduce more than 100 clients to each other which otherwise would have taken months. Each of them now have a huge list of clients and are getting at least 4-5 order queries each day. The massive stall which was put up by these 9 members attracted large amounts of visitors which otherwise could have been missed if they were in their own smaller stalls. They were the true stars on the exhibition day. Some of them got massive orders, not only from local clients but also from global ones. This fabulous display of a power team is a sheer example of BNI s philosophy of Givers Gain. We strongly believe that if you help give business to others you will surely get business in return because what goes around, comes around. This power team has decided to continue helping each other grow their business and will be participating in many more exhibitions. They are now gearing up for the big exhibition where 100,000 visitors are expected and demonstrate the power of power teams to everyone. Also the #1Corporate gifting and promotions business from the US visited the stall and has placed enquiries with the members and they are producing samples to be sent to the US, Europe & China. Members are expecting over ` 3 crores of business to be generated in the next couple of months! Contributed by Team Alpha, Mumbai Birthday Surprise for Dr. Ivan Misner There was a little surprise party at the BNI HQ in Upland, California and they had arranged for 56 Directors to send 56 gifts to Dr. Ivan Misner on his 56th Birthday. We did a little fun thing for him as well. We printed a special book having team photographs of BNI India s 56 chapters at that time wishing him a very Happy Birthday!!
