A Message from the Church As the new Pastor of Clarkesville First UMC, I would like to say Hello! For over 20 years we have enjoyed hosting the Quilt Guild on our campus. I am very grateful and thankful for our relationship. I look forward to the time, within the next few months, when your group can use our new Fellowship Hall. I also appreciate your patience and understanding when it comes to sharing space and limited parking. One of our most important ministries here is our Preschool. We are blessed to have a new playground and appreciate your understanding as we all adjust to the parking situation. For the safety of our students during parent pick-up, I want to thank you for allowing our students to share some time and space in the Fellowship Hall. This should only last about 15 minutes. It is also important for each of you to know that I have an open door policy. Please stop by or call if you ever need anything or have concerns, questions or complaints. However, I do strongly suggest that you keep concerns between you and I and do not involve my Preschool staff or the children. I am looking forward to coming to a meeting soon and greeting you all in person. Blessings, Pastor Keith Cox 706-754-2677 AND THE NUMBER IS... I hope you are doing our UFO Challenge! Be sure to say that your Show and Tell is from the Challenge!! The number we have drawn for September is Number 10! Good luck! The Quilt Connect USA Show is Sept. 7 to 9 at the Georgia International Convention Center at the Airport. This is a first year show and it is going to be AMAZING! We have an awesome venue, the best quilting instructors, and I have no doubt with the talent in our area, we will have fabulous quilts on display! Our goal is to grow this show and have it be one of the premiere quilting shows in the US. We are offering a variety of classes for all quilters! From hand piecing and applique, to embroidery work, to wool, to long arm quilting, we offer something for everyone!! We have contracted the best teachers from all across the US, and even the Gourmet Quilter from New Zealand to come and share their knowledge and talent with the quilters in and around Georgia. We will have a huge vendor mall for fantastic shopping and great demos, and of course we will have rows upon rows of beautiful quilts on display. Classes are already beginning to fill and you don't want to miss out on the opportunity to learn from quilting experts such as Marti Michell, Linda Hrcka, Jaimie Davis, Karen Kendo, among others, and the Gourmet Quilter herself, Susan Claire Mayfield. We have three full days of exciting classes taught by world-class instructors so take advantage of this opportunity!
