FRONT SPOILER Remove The Front Spoiler. Remove the nine tpping screws nd two clips.. Detch the ten ts nd remove the front spoiler. 9 Tpping Screws Clips Prts Rmovl. Remove the four clips from the rch nd two tpping screws in the order of nd s shown. At the wheel rch, turn the clips 90 efore pulling them out. LEXUS IS50/IS350 FRONT SPOILER B. Processing Front Bumper Cover Drilling Holes in Front Bumper Cover. Plce mrks on the three mrking points (t the two res) ehind the front umper cover y fully inserting push pin into the centers of those points. When plcing the mrks with push pin, insert the push pin perpendiculrly to the umper surfce. To check the mrking positions esily, illuminte the inside of the umper with work light. Mrking The other side of umper Push pin Push Pin. Drill 3 pilot holes t the six loctions tht you hve mrked. 3. Using hole sw, ore ø full holes over the six pilot holes tht you hve drilled (this will crete two slotted holes). 4. Use smll file to remove urrs from the holes. 5. Repet the opertion on the RH side in the sme mnner. this will crete slotted holes (RH nd LH) To protect the front umper cover nd other prts from scrtches while mking the holes, wrp cloth tpe, which cts s stop, round the drill nd the hole sw t the positions shown elow. Use hole sw with distnce of less thn 3mm from the end of the center drill to the stop. If the mrks remin fter the holes hve een mde, use smll file to enlrge the holes. Mrks Pilot hole 3 6 Full hole 6 (Hole sw) Mrking Cloth tpe 0mm 5mm 3mm Drill 3 Drill it, Hole sw Degrese the Front Bumper Cover. Use genuine wx remover to degrese the htched re.. C. Instlltion of the front spoiler Disposing of Liners. Peel the two liners from the dhesive tpe on the front spoiler, out 30mm from the inner side of the vehicle, nd secure them with msking tpe. Liner Msking Tpe Temporry Instlltion of Front Spoiler. Instll the front spoiler nd engge the eight ts. : T Positions Instlltion of Plstic clip. Pull the side of the front umper cover outwrd of the vehicle, nd engge the two plstic clips to the rcket.. Repet the opertion on the RH side in the sme mnner. Instltion of Front spoiler. Using the cross section in the illustrtion s reference, check the verticl position of the fender liner nd the engine undercover.. Engge the six ts of the front umper cover, which were previously removed. 3. Instll the two tpping screws nd six clips tht were removed, in the order shown in Figures through 3. 3 Tpping Screw Clips 3 : T Positions Tpping Screw Front umper cover Fender liner Fender liner Front spoiler Engine undercover Front spoiler Pressure the dhesive tpe. Peel the liner from the dhesive tpe of the front spoiler in the direction shown, nd ffix the dhesive tpe.. Repet the opertion on the RH side in the sme mnner. Pull the liner while pushing on the front umper cover, without llowing the liner to ter in the middle. Apply minimum pressure of 49N to ffix the dhesive tpe. Otherwise the dhesive tpe could come loose nd crete gp. Slowly peel the entire liner Apply Pressure Peel liner Push Front Bumper cover Front Spoiler Issue:A 08/7/05 Pge 5 of 7 pges
Fully tighten of Front spoiler. Using nine tpping screws, fully tighten the temporrily chmfered portions of the front spoiler nd the front umper cover from the outside towrds the inside of the vehicle.. Remove ll the pieces of cloth tpe tht were previously ffixed. Tighten Tpping screws 9 Notes fter instlltion is completed Verifying Instlltionr. Check tht the front spoiler is secured properly to the frontumper.. Check tht ll the cking sheets re removed from the dhesive tpes, nd tht the dhesive tpes re ffixed securely. 3. Check tht the front spoiler nd the vehicle prts did not get scrtched during the instlltion. Notes. Mke sure the front spoiler is not exposed to wter for 0 minutes fter the instlltion. Msk the re to which the dhesive tpe is to e ffixed, nd the RH nd LH extensions.. After pplying pinting primer, pply pint y using the - cross section s reference. Direction for ffixing the dhesive tpe Scrie Scrie line line Adhesive tpe Extensions LH Direction for ffixing the dhesive tpe Scrie Scrie line line Adhesive tpe Extensions RH Affixing Protector nd Adhesive Tpe TM. Apply 3M Adhesion Promoter K-500 to the re to which the dhesive tpe is to e ffixed in ccordnce with the TM directions for using the 3M Adhesion Promoter K-500.. Use the - cross section s reference. Affix dhesive tpe so tht its upper edge is.5 mm from the scrie line locted inwrd of the vehicle. Cut the excess portion of the dhesive tpe long the scrie line locted t the end. Pinting rnge 3.
