EIC Connect Advisory Group 2016 Chairman: EIC Connect is the EIC s flagship series of events for SME s (small to medium sized enterprises) to discover the potential of supplying their goods or services into major overseas energy projects by meeting the operators and contractors, listening to their presentations and networking with their industry peers. Established in 2002, this is a not-for-profit initiative of the EIC and as such, the low delegate fee attracts up to 1000 delegates to the event. Operators and contractors get to share their global supplier requirements and/or knowledge of their global markets to the smaller companies for a good cause. In turn, presenting companies gain a better understanding of UK expertise and capability overseas to help shape their future supplier strategies. The EIC Connect Advisory Board comprising of key participants from operator companies, contractors and leading SME communities are instrumental in shaping the event programme and the EIC would like to thank them personally for their continued support. A note about our Chairman: Nick Cochrane-Dyet Special Advisor to the Chief Representative BP Oil International Nick is currently the Special Advisor to the Chief Representative which includes a variety of topics on which to counsel on BP s activities in Abu Dhabi and the region. He joined BP in 1989 as Human Resources and Administration Manager in BP Middle East based in Dubai having spent the previous 4 years working as the Representative of Citicorp Investment Bank in Abu Dhabi. Soon after joining the Dubai office he became the Regional Business Development Manager for downstream covering countries that included Iran and Yemen as well the Gulf helping to expand both the aviation and lubricants businesses. Nick moved to BP Exploration and Production in Abu Dhabi in 1992 to take up the role of Deputy Chief Representative at a time when the BP office employed only three staff members and his role was to deputise for the Chief Representative on all of BP s affairs. Vice Chairman: Andrew Vaughan Country Chair (Abu Dhabi) Shell Andrew Vaughan is the Vice-President responsible for Shell s upstream businesses in Abu Dhabi, Kuwait and Syria. In this role, he is accountable for providing governance and support for joint ventures which have been formed between Shell and host government partners. These ventures have been formed to develop oil and gas reserves on behalf of the host nations. Andrew is also Shell Country Chair for Abu Dhabi and he represents the Royal Dutch Shell Group to the government of Abu Dhabi. Andrew started his career in the nuclear industry designing and operating fuel reprocessing plant. He moved to the oil and gas industry in 1981 where he worked initially as a petroleum engineer in the UK both for Shell and an independent UK operator. Rejoining Shell in 1992 he has held a variety of technical and general management roles in Syria, The Netherlands, Bangladesh, Egypt, Dubai and Kazakhstan before moving to Abu Dhabi in 2013 to take up his current role. 2

Lisa Phillipps Trade & Investment Advisor, British Embassy, United Arab Emirates UKTI UKTI is the Government department charged with supporting both trade out of the UK and Investment into the UK. Increasing our global commercial presence is key to the continuing improvement of the UK economy. Lisa helps UK business development in the UAE Energy sector, hydrocarbons, clean and renewable energy are part of Lisa s portfolio. Lisa engages with local stakeholders and shares relevant appropriate information to facilitate increasing the bilateral commercial relationships. Lisa works in collaboration with local springboard organisations and other Government departments to encourage joined up strategies across the commercial landscape. Terry Willis Director - Middle East, Africa & CIS The EIC Terry Willis is the Regional Director EIC UK (Middle East), the operating office for all of The EIC s activities in the Middle East region. Prior to establishing The EIC office in Dubai in March 2004, Terry spent 11 years with a UK manufacturer of specialist cable terminations used in the oil & gas sector, setting up their Middle East office in Jebel Ali, Dubai in 1996. He first arrived in the Middle East in 1982 working as a Sales Engineer in Qatar for a UK multinational cable manufacturer and after a brief period in Bahrain, moved to Saudi Arabia where he became country manager prior to the first Gulf War in 1991. He holds a Fellowship Membership of the Chartered Institute of Marketing. 3
John Jeffers Group Development Director Kentz John is a senior executive in Kentz, the Oil & Gas division of SNC Lavalin. He is the Group Development Director of Kentz and has Global responsibility for the effective Key client account management to ensure customers requirements are effectively managed by the Operations groups. John enjoys extensive experience of the Oil & Gas sector across the Middle East, executing capital investments in: Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Egypt, Kuwait, Yemen and of course in the UAE where he now resides. John s qualifications include: MBA including Management of Major Projects and a Post Graduate Diploma in Business Studies & Marketing He is a Fellow of the Institute of Directors, a learned Member of the UK Nuclear Institute and a Member of the Association of Project Management. John is a former Non-Executive Director of the EIC and has been an unwavering supporter of the activities of the EIC for over 20 years. Chady Khalife, Director - Supply Chain Support Petrofac (Sharjah) Graduating from the American University of Beirut in 1995, Chady has a BE in Mechanical Engineering. Following a seven-year career in regional sales and marketing, Chady decided it was time to move across the fence and accepted a role in the procurement department with Petrofac. Chady works closely with suppliers across the spectrum of the energy sector and value chain and in addition to procurement, he has been instrumental in the development of the expediting function and materials management tools. Passionate about his subject matter, Chady actively participates in round table discussions and events promoting the development of SMEs. Hugh Fraser, Managing Partner Andrews Kurth (Middle East) Hugh is the Managing Partner of Andrews Kurth (Middle East) DMCC located in Dubai. He is a Scottish corporate lawyer, originally from Aberdeen, based in the Middle East for 12 years and with 27 years of experience in the international energy industry. He was the founder and Managing Partner of Hugh Fraser International Legal Consultancy (2003-2013) and the former Group Head of Legal at John Wood Group PLC (1996-2003). He has extensive experience in Oil and Gas Contracts, EPC Projects, Mergers & Acquisitions, Joint Ventures and International Business Expansion Projects, and is a member of Andrews Kurth's Intelligent Energy Law Group which specializes in supporting clients with advanced energy technology and know-how. Jan Ward CBE, CEO Corrothem International Jan is a Mechanical Engineer 30 years in metals manufacturing and distribution. Worked at board level for specialty metals producers and distributors and has lived and worked in US, Europe and Middle East. Founder of Corrotherm International Ltd a company specializing in high alloy metals for use in oil, gas petrochemical power and desalination industries. Established Corrotherm 22 years ago from an office at home, Corrotherm now has offices in UK, UAE, US, Australia, China, S Korea, Saudi Arabia, India and South Africa. 4

Jens Winkelmann, Managing Director Endress+Hauser (UAE) LLC Jens Winkelmann was born in 1966 in Germany and is married with 2 children. He holds a University Degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Hannover, Germany. In 1997 he joined Endress+Hauser in Germany. He has worked for Endress+Hauser in various positions in Service, Marketing, Project and Sales in the companies establishments in Germany and Switzerland. In March 2009 he shifted to Dubai with his family to take the responsibility for the Endress+Hauser Middle East business as Head of Sales Middle East. Since Januray 2014 he holds the position of Managing Director of Endress+Hauser (UAE) LLC and is responsible for the Endress+Hauser operations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Eddie O Sullivan, former Chair of MEED Events chairs the Conference Programme. A writer, broadcaster and expert about Middle East political and economic affairs, Eddie worked as a Reuter s reporter and a government economist before joining MEED as a specialist in finance, energy and developments in the GCC. He was made Editor in 1985, Editor-in-Chief in 1988 and has been a director of MEED since 1989. After seven years as MEED s Publishing Director, O Sullivan moved to Dubai in September 2003. Michael C. Colwill Mike first came to Abu Dhabi in July of 1970 as an engineer for the Abu Dhabi Company for Onshore Oil Operations (ADCO). In the early 1980s, he embarked on a career in the UAE oilfield service industry where he has operated for the past 30 years. He has held a series of challenging positions ranging from Business Development Manager through to CEO of an Abu Dhabi based oilfield service organization. Over the past three decades Mike has negotiated and successfully developed a series of agency agreements, partnerships and limited liability companies related to the Abu Dhabi oil and gas Industry.
