The simplicity of this system allows for maximum flexibility in design, without sacrificing performance or durability. With a narrow profile face width of 1 [25 mm] (operating profile of 1-9/16 ) and a depth of 2-3/8 (60 mm), intricate, yet stable, constructions can be created with large proportions of glass. 316 STAINLESS STEEL Stainless steel profiles are desirable for both their corrosive resistant qualities and their aesthetic beauty. Recommended for use in coastal regions, industrial areas, and areas with corrosion and oxidation resistance requirements. 316 austenite steel is extremely corrosion-resistant to sodium and calcium brines. WEATHERING STEEL When exposed to the environment, a rich patina finish is formed on the surface of weathering steel. The patina finish is a rust layer that protects the underlying metal from further corrosion. The transformation in color ranges over time from the original grey color to browns and dark browns. The patina formation is similar to the aging process of copper or bronze, and is dependant on weather conditions. GALVANNEALED COATING ZF100 Most Loewen Steel products come with a galvannealed coating to protect against corrosion and provide an optimal surface for finish adhesion. Most steel fabricators do not provide this level of protection, but we know that your projects require this level of details and attention. Galvannealed is a significant improvement on the traditional galvanizing process. The steel is zinc coated in a hot dip coating process to assist in protecting against rust and corrosion resistance and then goes through an additional annealing process which vastly improves the formability and paint adhesion. Galvannealed steel is the preferred coated steel for use in architectural applications. PREMIUM MATERIALS Cold rolled steel is processed in cold reduction mills, where the material is cooled (at room temperature) followed by annealing and/ or temper rolling. Compared to hot rolled steel, cold rolled steel provides superior strength, surface finish, and superior dimensional tolerances. ALUMINUM GLAZING STOPS GLAZING STOPS AND MULLIONS An enhanced selection of glazing beads/stops in aluminum and steel porvides the perfect look for any architectural style. Available in a variety of profiles and materials, these glazings beads/stops will be fastened directly to the sash profile or attached with a hidden clip.
