IMPORTANT NOTE: Before discarding the packaging ensure you have package containing the spigot set, teflon platten washer, front guide handle, and colour frame accessory. Version 3: October 2010 1

MOUNTING THE SPIGOT To attach the spigot and teflon washer to the Followspot: 1. Remove the M12 bolt and steel washer from the spigot. 2. Insert the M12 bolt and washer through the top of the hole in the yoke. 3. Place the teflon washer, mounting it flush and centred to the platten on the bottom of the yoke 4. Screw the spigot onto the section of the bolt protruding from the bottom of the yoke, and tighten with a suitable tool. Do not tighten by hand! MOUNTING THE FRONT GUIDE HANDLE To attach the front guide handle to the Followspot: 1. Remove the two M6 bolts and steel washers from the handle plate located in the channel on the lens tube. 2. Position the plate and handle in the desired position. 3. Fasten the two M6 bolts and washers through the holes of the front guide handle, and screw into the handle plate. Tighten with a suitable tool. Do not tighten by hand! LAMPING YOUR FOLLOWSPOT Before re-lamping DISCONNECT THE LUMINAIRE FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Be aware also that the lamp or luminaire may still be hot, so exercise necessary caution to avoid burns. Before inserting a lamp into the module, we suggest that you practice the motion of removing and inserting the lamp holder module from the lamphouse. Front 2 Rear Lip Loosen the thumb-screw at the front of the lamp holder module by about 5mm. Holding the lamp holder module, slide it forward until both the rear lip and the front 'T' of the lamp holder module clear their home positions [1], then pull the lamp module down [2]. Reverse this action to replace the lamp holder and then tighten the thumb-screw to lock the lamp holder module into position. The lamp module is factory set at a mid peak / flat field. Turn on and make final peak / flat setting as desired refer notes below on Optimising the Output. Version 3: October 2010 2

Lamp REGISTER THIS PRODUCT WITH PHILIPS SELECON: www.seleconlight.com/warrantyreg To replace the lamp: 1 Remove the lamp holder module as described on Page 2. 2 Set the level of the metal cup holding the lamp base. Level the cup with the edge of the module by adjusting the three levelling screws. 3 Remove the old lamp. Align the pins of the new lamp to the correct holes and push the lamp firmly home. Do LampHolder Module not touch the quartz envelope of the lamp with your fingers - use the plastic sheath supplied to insert the lamp. 4 Carefully replace the lamp holder module and tighten the thumbscrew to lock it into position. Reconnect the Followspot to the power supply. 5 Set the beam angle to its widest with a sharp edge Neutral 15mm 6 Centre the lamp in the middle of the beam if necessary, by adjusting the three levelling screws. Peak Flat OPTIMISING THE OUTPUT The lamp position can be altered to 'peak' or 'flat' light output. The peak beam gives a central hot spot falling off evenly to the beam edges. This setting is useful for normal stage lighting purposes where beams are overlapped to achieve an even cover. Flat adjustment provides a visually even light beam suitable for Followspot operation. Take care to move the lamp carefully as the lamp filament is burning white hot and at its most vulnerable. Don't over-tighten the knobs, finger tight pressure is all that is required. Adjust the beam to its narrow angle, with a sharp edge. Have the iris at the full open position 1 Peak the output (turn the centre gear clockwise) until you see light flare around the edge of the beam. 2 Turn the centre gear anti-clockwise until the flare is removed and you have a clean sharp-edged beam. This is the position of maximum light output. 3 To set a FLAT beam, turn the centre gear anti-clockwise until the distribution appears even across the beam. For 18PACFS80VL and 18PACFS1 do the following additional steps: 1. Close the iris to its minimum setting. 2. Focus the beam to the desired size and edge sharpness. For a hard edge setting, the best focus position is just before a red ring appears around the beam edge. This will work well when the iris is fully open or almost closed. Lamp tilt gear Peak-Flat gear Note that, as with all lamps, the Followspot should be run for 15-20 minutes before optimum light output is achieved. LAMPS 1. 18PACFSMSRL The Pacific Followspot MSR 575 is supplied with the following lamp holder module: 19PACLMMSRHR with a G22 lamp base for use with 575W MSR single ended Hot Restrike lamps. Philips MSR 575 HR lamp Average Lamp Life: Colour Temperature: Burning Position: Voltage at Startup: 750 hours 5600K Universal <5Kv Voltage running: 95v Current at Startup: 7.7A Current running: 7A Re-Ignition time: instant Version 3: October 2010 3

2. 18PACFS80VL The Pacific Followspot 80V 1200W Power System is supplied with the following lamp holder module: 19PACLM80V with a G22 lamp base for use with 80V 1200W lamps such as: Philips 6980Z GE OC1200 The electronics of the Pacific 80V Power System is fitted with an 8A slow blow (6.35 x 32mm) fuse. It is possible that this fuse may blow in the event of a lamp failure involving the collapse of the filament structure. 2. 18PACFS6 The 575W/750W or 600W/800W Pacific Followspot is supplied with the following lamp holder module: 19PACLM6 with a G9.5 lamp base. Lamps suitable for this module include: Philips GKV 220-240V 600W 6986P Philips GLC 115V 575W 6989P Philips GKV 230-240V 800W 6982P Philips GLC 115V 750W 6981P 3. 18PACFS1 The Pacific 1000W Followspot is supplied with the following lamp holder module: 19PACLM1 with a GY9.5 lamp base. Lamps suitable for this module include: Philips 220-240V 1000W 6995 I/BP Philips 115V 1000W 6995 I/BP Important Note: The quoted performance figures are achieved with Philips lamps. Other manufacturers lamps can be used, but no assumptions should be made as to relative performance. Please refer to the instructions of the lamp manufacturer when disposing of failed lamp and for hours of usage. Replacing the lamp and fuse are the only maintenance tasks that can be safely carried out by nonapproved personnel. Refer below - Safety & Maintenance note. MOUNTING YOUR ELECTRONIC BALLAST (for 18PACFSMSR and 18PACFS80V models only) Important Note: Please refer to the separate instruction manuals for the MSR Electronic Ballast and/or the 80V power system. To mount the MSR or 80V Ballast: 1. Remove the two M8 bolts and washers on the rear of the ballast. 2. Attach the M8 bolts through the yoke, and tighten with a suitable tool. Do not tighten by hand! YOKE PIVOT ADJUSTMENT - the yoke can be positioned anywhere in the channel that runs the length of the lens tube. This is useful to achieve the best balance if using a colour changer or other accessory mounted on the front of the luminaire, or to fit the luminaire in space restricted positions. The yoke balance point is factory set on the lens tube for normal applications. To move the yoke, loosen the M8 bolts at the bottom of the pivot point of the yoke on each side of the luminaire. Slide the yoke to the required position, check the yoke is evenly positioned on each side and tighten the M8 bolts. FOCUSING - The variable beam of your Pacific Followspot is altered by adjusting the front and rear lens in relation to each other. The front lens defines the beam spread, the rear the focus degree of softness or hardness of the beam edge or shutters. Finger tight pressure only is necessary to lock the lens off in their chosen positions. PAN AND TILT ADJUSTMENT - To pan your luminaire loosen ensure that the stand spigot nut is not tight, then simply point the Followspot in the desired direction. Version 3: October 2010 4

BLACKOUT IRIS Your Followspot is fitted with an adjustable iris diaphragm to mask the beam size to the required diameter, and finally black the light out. IMPORTANT NOTE - Do not leave the Iris closed while the lamp is on. As soon as you have blacked out the light turn / dim the lamp off. Failure to do this will cause the iris to fail due to excessive heat and will void your warranty. To remove the iris assembly for maintenance or replacement: 1. Remove the gobo holder cover plate first (located in front of the iris assembly) 2. Remove the fastening screws on the iris assembly 3. Carefully slide out for maintenance or replacement A GOBO HOLDER can be fitted to your Followspot if required using a standard A size gobo (order code 19PACFSGH). To fit the gobo holder accessory: 1. Remove the gobo holder cover plate (located in front of the iris assembly) 2. Insert the gobo holder and tighten the fastening screws. COLOUR FRAME A colour frame is included with your Pacific Followspot. To mount the colour frame, slide it into the guide slots provided on the front of your Pacific Followspot. COLOUR CHANGER A 4-colour manual colour changer (Order code 18PACFCCH) is available as an accessory to mount on the front of your Pacific Followspot. As well as the mounting procedure below, it should also be secured to the Followspot by means of a safety bond (order code: 20SC). This is attached to the anchor point on the front of the lens tube and the anchor point on the rear of the colour changer. To mount the colour changer on the front of the Followspot: 1. Slide the rear colour changer plate onto the front mounting plate of the Followspot. Take care to ensure that the colour changer is located correctly on the top mounting guide on the Followspot. 2. Lock the colour changer in position by tightening the two thumbscrews mounted on the front of the Followspot. ACCESSORIES 4-colour changer (Order code 18PACFCCH) Colour frame (Order code 20CFSF2020) Followspot stand (Order code STDFS) Safety chain (Order code 20SC) Gobo Holder (Order code 18PACFSGH) CLEANING Open the lens compartment door on the top of the Followspot lens tube.
