Quality made in Italy HS-1 is entirely designed, built and tested in Italy, with the best components on the market. In its small dimensions find place hundreds of pieces which would have otherwise needed a very large cabinet using dated technologies. An original project: the new Hi-End class type HS To achieve an Hi-End result the signal conditioning should be as less complex as possible, in order to avoid some unwanted consequences on tracks with a high density of information, such as: non existing audio components (intermodulation), loud signals hiding weak ones (blocking) or undesired effects due to certain frequency ratios (resonances). Distortion has many faces, and often shows itself in case of numerous tracks (i.e. classical music, choirs, live sessions, electronic or symphonic music). Because of this, sometimes, a good analog system is preferred to a modest digital one: so that complexity won't degenerate into chaos. HS-1 sounds like a tube-type A class, but without its limitations. Signal path, peak behavior and fluidity make the listening a pleasing and never tiering experience, for consecutive hours of pure audiophile pleasure.

The right image To obtain an adequate sound image it is necessary to have a final stage with the authority to drive the speakers without suffering their impedance ripple. If the global response is not well calibrated and capable of high currents, as in the case of an excessive output resistance (typical of some old tube or solid state amplifiers), then fluctuation and loss of control may occur, resulting in loud sounds disturbing delicate ones and in a loss of amplitude and localization of the scene. The Damping Factor (DF) along with the step response summarize the phenomena above, and indicate how well the amplifier performs when matched with speakers. If the damping factor is below 50, woofers and crossovers may induce ringing resulting in an imprecise, rough and opaque sound: Step response for a mixed reactive load Blue: input; Yellow: HS-1 output; Purple: low DF amplifier HS-1 is capable to carry to the output up to 20A, to drive the speakers in a fast and precise way, without which there can be no sound spacing nor definition. Thanks to a sophisticated output stage, overall noise is also much lower.

Professional connectivity The inputs are balanced, to be connected to professional sources or preamplifiers. XLR-PinJack adapters for standard audio connection are supplied with the unit. The outputs consist of modern SpeakOn, able to transfer over 2kW on 4 channels. Power supply requires any DC source, battery or adapter with voltage between 10V-30V range (not necessary stabilized), provided that the current be adequate, but the efficiency is so high that HS-1 is capable to work with less than 1A, allowing low volume listening even if powered with a solar panel or consumer batteries. The choice of DC supply presents great advantages (as do some of the first-rate amplifiers in the world), blocking the transmission of interferences coming from electric motors or appliance, making the installation cleaner because the absence of AC cables near the signal ones decouples the audio paths from noise. Moreover there is no risk of electric shocks, and mounting takes up the minimum amount of space.
