SPEAKERS PROFILE Dr. Lutz-Christian Wolff - Professor of Law at the Faculty of Law of The Chinese University of Dr. Lutz-Christian Wolff is admitted to practice as a German attorney-at-law and also as a solicitor in England & Wales. He works on a regular basis with companies, government entities and law firms on international business transactions in the Greater China region. He has authored numerous books and articles on Chinese law and is a frequent speaker at international conferences, professional development courses and in-house seminars. Professor Wolff has been based in since 1999 after several years of working in Shanghai, Taipei, Düsseldorf, Beijing, New York and Frankfurt. Dr. Norbert Knittlmayer- International Partner, Marccus Partners Dr. Norbert Knittlmayer is an international partner of Marccus Partners based in Duesseldorf (Germany). He has more than 15 years of experience of practice in cross-border M&A transactions and international corporate law. Dr. Knittlmayer advises German companies on numerous transactions and direct investments in Asia, Eastern Europe and North America. Furthermore, he assists Chinese companies on their business in Europe. Dr. Chao Xi - Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law, The Chinese University of Dr. Chao Xi holds an LLB from the Sun Yat-Sen University, China, and an LLM and a PhD in Law from the University of London. He has authored/co-authored Doing Business in China (3rd ed.) (London: Routledge, 2008) and Corporate Governance and Legal Reform in China (London: Wildy, Simmonds & Hill, 2009). He is also Adjunct Professor of Jilin University School of Law, China. Dr. Julian Lemor Partner, SJ Berwin LLP Dr. Julian Lemor is a partner at SJ Berwin LLP and heads the Corporate Department in Germany. Dr. Lemor specialises in international mergers and acquisitions, private equity, restructurings, joint ventures and corporate real estate transactions. He also regularly acts for financial institutions, private equity funds, public and private corporations as well as management and supervisory boards on corporate governance and compliance matters. He studied at the Universities of Münster, Saarbrücken and Frankfurt am Main and received a Doctor rer. publ. (political science and history) from the University of Public Sciences Speyer. Jun Dai Partner, HHP Attorneys-At-Law Before joining HHP Attorneys-At-Law, Jun Dai had worked with several foreign firms in their Shanghai offices for more than 10 years. He received his master and bachelor degrees in law from Fudan University. Now a Partner, Mr. Dai has extensive experience with M&A, inbound and outbound investments, joint ventures including those in which tax issues have played a prominent role. He assists clients with a wide range of transactional matters, including the purchase and sale of businesses, commercial contracting and the creation of new business ventures. Mr. Dai has worked extensively with multinational and Chinese clients in structuring acquisitions and in divesting those acquisitions. Marc Waha Partner, Norton Rose, Asia Competition Team Marc Waha is a partner in Norton Rose's Asia Competition Team, based in. He also spends a significant amount of time in Europe. Mr. Waha advises international companies on emerging antitrust regimes in East Asia, and Asian companies on global competition compliance issues, multi-jurisdictional merger filings and international cartel investigations. His work is recommended in the Chambers Asia 2010 Guide and he is ranked as a leading lawyer by IFLR in its Guide to the World's Leading Financial Law Firms. Dr. Bernd Sagasser - Head of the Global Legal Practice, Marccus Partners Dr. Bernd Sagasser is the Head of the Global Legal Practice of Marccus Partners and of the group Mazars. He holds a Doctor of Law degree (Germany) and is admitted as Attorney-at-Law to the bar of Paris-Nanterre (France) and Düsseldorf (Germany). Dr. Sagasser is also a Certified Tax Advisor (Germany). Christophe Clerc - International Partner, Marccus Partners Christophe Clerc is an M&A / CM partner at Marccus Partners in Paris, France.
