The Relaionship Beween Creaion and DONG Zhenyu, ZHAO Jingsong Inner Mongolia Universiy of Science and Technology, Baoou, Inner Mongolia, P.R.China, 014010 Absrac:Based on he compleion of Difference and Relaionship Beween Creaion and, sudies he heory of TRIZ is inroduced o argue he difference and similariies beween hem. The Difference and Relaionship beween Creaion and is comprehensively discussed. Keyword: Creaion,, Difference, Relaionship, char A presen, he difference and relaionship beween creaion and innovaion hasn obained a common undersanding in creaion academic circles. Therefore, i s disadvanageous for creaion eaching in universiies. On Ocober 24, 2006, Beijing Creaion Associaion convened more han weny senior expers o discussing he basic conceps of creaion and innovaion, he definiions of which were approved by he majoriy of hem. Narrow creaion was defined as he process from nonexisence o exisence, which was also named iniiaion. Broad creaion was defined as no only iniiaion from nonexisence o exisence, bu also included he improvemen from exisence o beer and he exension form exisence o applicaion. is he aciviy of produced hings beer han iself, which i owned oneself ago. They had hree meanings: he firs, i isn same as i was previously; he second, i brings more profi in maer or spiri o he main body of he innovaion; he hird, i s advanageous o sociey's progress. The new in a broad innovaion in ha is' resul is differen o before, and beer han before. The relaionship beween creaion and innovaion is an overlap relaionship. There are compaible pars and incompaible pars. [1] In he academic sense, creaion and innovaion come from one coninuous line. Creaion is a process from nohing o exisence; is a developmen on he base of he creaion, and includes he improvemen and he exension from exisence o applicaion. There isn innovaion wihou creaion, and here isn he furher developmen of he creaion wihou he innovaion. Generally speaking, creaion and innovaion are synonyms. However, he relaionship beween creaion and innovaion is no only an inclusion relaionship o each oher, bu also an overlap relaionship. 1. The similariy of creaion and innovaion 1.1 The same realm of creaion and innovaion. The realm of creaion and innovaion is compleely same. The realm of creaion is as vas as same as he realm of innovaion, here isn a difference beween hem. 1.2 The same main body of creaion and innovaion. The main body of creaion and innovaion is compleely he same. The main body of creaion is man, bu he main body of innovaion also is man The business is he main body of innovaion. This is he acion of man in naure ha he man of business is going for innovaion. Regardless, creaion or innovaion is he acion of man. 1.3 The same principle and mehod of creaion and innovaion. We found, he principle and he mehod of creaion and innovaion are also he same; here isn a difference beween hem. 1.4 Creaion and are synonyms. In he general sense which people speak everyday, in many cases, creaion and innovaion are synonyms, innovaion also is creaion. According o he definiion of he The Advanced Dicionary of Chinese, 165

creaion is hinking of new mehods, esablishing new heory, doing new resuls. is creaing new hings and abandoning old hings. [2] is esablishing new hings, innovaion is sill creaion in naure. For example, innovaion is a naional soul of he progress Isn innovaion really aken he place of creaion? We hink ha creaion and innovaion are same in naure. The concep of creaion and innovaion are inerchangeable in many occasions. [3] 2. Disinguishing of creaion and innovaion 2.1Schumpeer s concep of innovaion and is effec Joseph A. Schumpeer (1883-1950), Ausrian, American naionaliy, conemporary Wesern famous economis, The heory of innovaion which he pu forward in he book <The heory of Economic Developmen > creaes a grea sir in he field of wesern economy, and has always a grea repuaion. According o Schumpeer s view, innovaion is building a new funcion of producion, is leading a new combinaion abou he essenial facors of producion and he condiion of producion which has never been in he sysem of producion. The funcion of he enrepreneur ha is a soul of capialism is realizing he innovaion leading he new combinaion Economic Developmen also means he new combinaion which he sociey of capialism has coninuously realized. new combinaion or he economy developmen, include he following five siuaions: 1) Bringing in new produc. 2) Bringing in new echnology, new mehod of producion. 3) Building new marke. 4) Conrolling he new supply source of raw maerials. 5) Realizing new organizaion of he enerprise. is an inheren facor, he economic developmen also is a flucuaion abou economic life, which is from iner creaiviy iself. [4] which is also named echnology innovaion, belongs o he field of economy, his is an economis s undersanding relaing o he enrepreneur. I never repels people's in-deph undersanding of he concep of innovaion. However, Schumpeer s concep of innovaion produces exensive effecs all he same. Schumpeer becomes he faher of he concep of he innovaion. People mus menion Schumpeer and his undersanding o he innovaion whenever discussing innovaion. I seems ha Schumpeer made an axiomaic prescripion which can be exceeded. Acually, creaion and innovaion is an eernal subjec which has coninually been developed since he birh of human sociey. I isn he case ha here wasn innovaion before Schumpeer. The realm of innovaion is broad; people may go a sep furher o have a broader and overall undersanding of he concep of innovaion from differen subjecs and angles. 2.2 The meaning of creaion and innovaion in philosophy The view of philosophy ells us: he world is moving, change (developmen) is carrying on in movemen, developmen is a basic form of movemen, (including coninuous quaniaive change and leap quaniaive change). According o he view of philosophy, we may undersand: creaion is he saring poin and he base of innovaion, his is leaping quaniaive change. Bu he innovaion develops on he base of he creaion, his is quaniaive. I mus evoke he quaniaive and produce new creaion when he innovaion develop and reach a fair level. There is creaion before innovaion. Creaion is he saring poin of innovaion; he innovaion develops on he base of he creaion. Creaion and innovaion come from one coninuous line. This is he difference and relaionship beween creaion and innovaion in philosophy. 2.3 Creaion and innovaion in humaniies and sociey. Schumpeer led he concep of innovaion in he economic angle ha furher opened a door discussing 166

he inenion and exension of innovaion. The principle of philosophy supplies he key for us o undersand he difference and relaionship of creaion and innovaion. Discussing he creaion and he innovaion in humaniies and sociey, ha supplies he broad field of vision for us, compleely combing heir exension inenion and heir disincion. We obained he following conclusions: ⑴ Creaion and innovaion boh are he human s naure, he main body of creaion and innovaion is he same; ⑵ Creaion is ha hinking of hings which predecessors haven hough of and doing hings which predecessors haven done before, in shor, a process from nonexisence o exisence. is developing on he base of creaion, ha is improving from exisence o beer and exending from exisence o applicaion. The iny disincion beween creaion and innovaion is beneficial o simplify language, in he same way, he word hey refers no only an assembly of he men, bu also include he women someimes. ⑶ The realm of creaion and innovaion is compleely he same and is vas, i involves human sociey, naural science engineering echnology and so on. There is innovaion in economy; he enrepreneur hinks he innovaion of he soul. is a naional soul of progress. is also he coninuous power of naional developmen. ⑷ Creaion and innovaion boh are he funcion of ime. You haven creaion oday, you can creae omorrow; you haven innovaion oday, ohers can innovae omorrow. So, according he deph of he developmen and he dimensionaliy of ime, creaion is relaive shor, bu he innovaion is relaive long. 2.4 The difference of creaion and innovaion in he heory of TRIZ. I can be very clear o disinguish he difference beween creaion and innovaion in engineering echnology using he heory of TRIZ o analyze he relaionship of creaion and innovaion. 3 Performance parameer 1 2 4 Number of paens Grade of invenion Economic profi ime(phase) Firs, according o he s curve echnology evoluion of TRIZ heory, he creaion is he iniial acion whose echnology propery is lower, bu he innovaion is he growing evoluion whose echnology propery is gradually rising. Second, according o he s curve s change of he number of paens in he process of he echnology evoluion, on he base of he creaion, innovaion is in he period of developmen ha produces a large 167

quaniy of similar paens. Third, according o he curve s change of he paen grade in he process of echnology evoluion, creaion s grade of invenion is higher, bu he innovaion s grade of invenion is lower. Fourh, according o he curve s change of economic profi in he process of he echnology evoluion, creaion is a difficul saring level in which he economic profi is no enough, bu innovaion is in he developing level in which he economic profi is coninuously increased. To analyze he relaionship of creaion and innovaion using he heory of TRIZ, he conclusion is: he creaion is he acion of a new echnology's born, whose echnology propery is lower, paen grade is higher, and economic profi is no enough. On he base of creaion, innovaion is he acion ha he echnology propery has been raised, produces a large number of he new paens (alhough he paen s grade is lower han he creaion s), and he economic profi is coninuously increased. There isn innovaion if here isn creaion; here isn he developmen of creaion and he progress of echnology if here isn innovaion. 3. The picorial display of he relaionship beween creaion and innovaion Currenly, in creaion academic circles, he differen undersandings regarding he connoaive meanings of creaion and innovaion reflec on he various ypes of relaion diagrams of creaion exensions and innovaion exensions. For insance: 1) Creaion is he foundaion of innovaion; creaion exensions are broader han innovaion exensions. See diagram 1 [5] ; 2) exensions are broader han innovaion exensions. See diagram 2 [6] ; 3) Eclipsed conformaion. Pars of creaion and innovaion are overlapped, ohers have no inersecion. See diagram 3 [7] ; 4) is based on creaion bu superior o creaion. See diagram 4 [8]. Creaion Creaion Figure1 Figure2 168

Creaion Creaion Figure3 Figure4 These plain figures above are difficul o show he relaionship of creaion and innovaion, so we hough i would be possible o more clearly reflec vividly he relaionship beween hem if heir relaionship were shown by a hree dimensional figure, which is easy for people o undersand and grasp firmly, as showed in Figure 5. In Figure 5, he lowes level is creaion, he plane in which he level of creaion is he realm of he creaion; The verical axis is he axis of ime; he pars ha rise high on he plane is he innovaion acion on he base of creaion. The whole figure indicaes: here is he same realm beween creaion and innovaion; creaion is he saring poin of innovaion, innovaion develops on he base of creaion; creaion and innovaion boh are a funcion of ime. 80 60 40 20 0 Creaion layer Figure5 creaion realm l a i c o s e c n e i c s social science naural science engineering echnology 3. Conclusion People s disincive inerpreaions regarding creaion and innovaion (and heir relaionship) mainly reflec he differen characerisics among differen subjecs. The figures presen he relaionship beween creaion and innovaion in a visual way. However, i is difficul o reflec he inner relaionship beween creaion and innovaion by using wo-dimensional 169

figures. Jump ou of he plain world, using hree-dimensional figures is beer for reflecing he relaionship. To conclude, we sudy he relaionship beween creaion and innovaion, which mainly demonsraed as: creaion and innovaion possess he same field. Boh of hem employ he same principles and approaches; creaion is he saring poin of innovaion. The developmen of innovaion is based on creaion; merely using radiional plain figures is hard o reflec he relaionship beween creaion and innovaion exacly. Adding hree dimensional figures will be more clearly.
