ANNIE ANNIE : In Harlem, Manhattan Island, N.Y.C, Annie Bennett lives in foster care with several other girls in the care of Colleen Hannigan, a former singer who spends her days drinking or trying to find a husband. Annie spends Fridays waiting outside Donni's restaurant, believing her parents will come for her; a note written on the receipt from Donni's says they would return. Annie is nearly run over by a car; however, she is saved by William Stacks, a millionaire who wants to become a Mayor. Annie's rescue goes viral on the internet, Stacks becomes popular. Annie moves in with Stacks to boost his popularity. Annie enjoys her new flat and becomes friends with Stacks' assistant Grace Farrell. Annie also gets to adopt the stray dog from before, naming her Sandy.

Part 4 : Lunch with Mr Stacks Annie : I'm 10. I'm not an idiot. Mr Stacks : I never said you were... An idiot. Or 10. Truth of the matter is, I don't know how old you are. Annie : Ten. Mr Stacks :Well, now we know that you're not an idiot. But there are a lot of people out there that are and when they saw that photo of us, they thought that I would make a great mayor. Annie : Why? Mr Stacks :Why? Because I'm a I'm a rich guy. I saved an orphan. Annie :I'm not an orphan, I'm a foster kid. And you didn't save me. Mr Stacks :Oh, I didn't save you? Annie :Wait. That's how a mayor gets elected? Mr Stacks : Yes. Insane, isn't it? Annie :I bet if I moved in with you, you'd become president. Mr Stacks :Move in with me? This is not that kind of party. Guy : That's it. That's it. That's it. Annie :I think he wants to tell you something. Guy : Actually, that's not a bad idea. Annie coming to live with you. What? From what I understand, it's very crowded where you live. How'd you like some more space? Is that something that you might like? Living with the richest guy in the world? Annie :Yeah, that's something I might like. Great. Perfect. Mr Stacks : What are you talking about? Guy : Listen to me. It'll only be for a few weeks. Then she'll go back to wherever she came from. Taking in a foster kid, that's an automatic 15 point jump in the polls. Mr Stacks :You want me to play Daddy? Annie :It's easy. All I need is a bed and meals. You don't have to do anything else. And you get $157 a week. Mr Stacks :Do I look like I need $157 a week? Annie : Everybody needs an extra $157 a week. Grace : You're not really thinking about doing this? Annie :You want photos, right? I'm sure there's easier ways to get photos. Annie : Not with me in them. Smile. Reporters : What's your name? Guy : Her name is Annie, and she'll be staying with Mr. Stacks for awhile. Reporters : He's going to adopt you? Annie :No, no, no. I have parents. This is just temporary. And a window that's... Okay. And then at least one chair per 10 persons. And I think the Starship Enterprise is gonna count. I'm gonna check that box. Annie : How does it do this? Grace : It's a smart house. So, it recognizes your voice and then adjusts itself accordingly. It's like a friend. I consider it a friend. But I have real friends that aren't robots. Let's forget this conversation and the previous conversation and start afresh. Got that? Great. I'm gonna record your voice now, Annie, and it'll be in the system. So, just say something into this. Annie :What should I say? Grace :Anything. Annie :I think I'm gonna like it here. Grace :Got it. Great. It's all yours. Have a go. And I'll be back. Grace :Ma'am? Excuse me. You are not allowed to go in there. Lady :This is very nice. Are those halogen bulbs? Annie :This sink is bigger than my entire country. I think I'm gonna like it here. I think I'm gonna like it (X3) here.. Grace :So, think it and it shall appear Annie :I think I'm gonna like it here Grace :Because it knows just what you wanna see Annie :Wait, I think it and it comes to me? Grace :It knows the temp you're comfy in. Annie :That's great. Can it teach me to swim? Grace :We'll get a coach, no need to fear. Annie :I think I'm gonna like it here. The water's cold! Grace : Everything you've ever dreamed Is at your fingertips And if you haven't dreamed it yet Add it to your wish list Annie :Is this Mr. Stacks' room? Grace :No, Annie, this is your room. Annie : Sweet Lord. I think I'm gonna like it Lady :Okay, so the state says that you must have at least one water source in Check. And a window that's... Okay. Part 6 Annie and Mr Stacks Annie : Couldn't sleep. So quiet up here. What are you doing? Mr Stacks : I'm working. Annie :This late? Mr Stacks :Always. Annie :When do you have fun? Mr Stacks :This is fun. Look, if you're hungry, there's not a lot of food here. Only take out. Fridge. Annie :Cool. Knock yourself out. Annie :You don't have a cook? Or like a million servants? Mr Stacks :Nope, I don't. I like to be alone. Annie :So why do you need all this space? Mr Stacks :Because I like to be alone with a lot of space. Look, I think people surround themselves with other people just so they can feel loved. I don't believe in that. I believe the people that actually love you, you can count them on one hand. Annie :You know you're making a fist. Whatever. Annie :Where are your people? Mr Stacks :Wow, you ask a lot of questions, little one. My people aren't around. Annie :You don't want new ones? Mr Stacks :I'm good. Annie :You know what? I am hungry. I can make a meal out of anything. Pick five ingredients. Mr Stacks :I don't want to. Annie :Come on, this'll be fun. Mr Stacks :Annie, listen, I don't have time... Annie :Not work, but almost as fun. All right. Fusilli, pancetta, steak, pomegranate, truffle, sun-dried tomatoes. Annie :I've only heard of two of those things. Mr Stacks :Google it. Annie :Okay, where are your pots and pans? Mr Stacks :Pots and pans. I know. Mr Stacks and Annie : Cool. Annie :Put some in there. Eh Put in some carrot? Mr Stacks :You're not gonna chop that carrot? Annie :You lactose-intolerant? Mr Stacks :I'm kid-intolerant. Annie :How's your cholesterol? Mr Stacks :It's good right now. Annie :I'm gonna go downstairs and get some supplies. See you later. Orange you glad I'm back? The sixth ingredient is my jokes. Mr Stacks :Are we really doing this? Annie :Cheers.
