IT S A STITCH QUILT GUILD MINUTES January 9, 2014 President s Report: The meeting was called to order by Colleen. Members and visitors were greeted. A thank you was said to Sharon Ostermann for serving as our previous secretary. The Christmas Party Committee was thanked for their work organizing the wonderful Christmas Party held on Dec. 12 at the West Bend Lakes Country Club. Secretary s Report: The minutes were accepted as written. Motion: Carol Clingan 2 nd : Jeannie Heidel Treasurer s Report: Belle will set up an audit with the finance committee and bring the 2014 budget to the February meeting. The report was accepted as given. Motion: Jeanniene Rakowski 2 nd :Jackie Iannarelli. Vice President s Report: A hostess signup sheet was sent around for 2014. A thank you was said for the November workshop that was sponsored by our guild. Thoughts were expressed that it is highly recommended that the workshop be done again later this year. The Vice President will now have a program committee to help come up with ideas and plan activities for the guild meetings. Pam Moroder suggested that in February all members bring their sewing machines, a couple of full bobbins, thread, power strips and power cords along with forty 21/2 strips or a jelly roll. Each member will be making a 48 x60 strip quilt. Valentine fabric is suggested, otherwise bring whatever type of fabric you would like. You may also bring forty 21/2 squares to insert into the strip quilt. This idea was well received so members were asked to arrive a few minutes early for the next meeting to set up their machines, be ready for the business meeting at 7:15p.m. and then start sewing at 7:30 p.m. There will be no Show & Tell at the February meeting. Pam Moroder will send an e-mail with complete instructions for this project. Committee Reports: Sunshine: No report. Quilts of love: No report. Gold Star: Belle invited members to participate in making quilts on the 4 th Saturday of the month, January 25 th, at the West Bend Legion which is located in the Mutual Mall Building in West Bend. Meetings will continue the 4 th Saturdays in February and March. Belle said she would provide lunch for those who attend. Membership: Patti reported that there were 50 paid members for 2014 currently. Last year there were 58 paid members. She will also be drafting a list of who is on each committee in our guild.

Quilt Show: Helen encouraged members to enter quilts and pick up entry forms for the May Quilt Show. Raffle Quilt: Helen reminded all members to pick to pick up raffle tickets for the May Quilt Show. Bid and Buy Boutique: Sharon reminded guild members that each needs to enter an item in the boutique. She encouraged members to make items that we think will sell. These items are due by or before the April meeting. Resolutions: Kathy stated that Resolution sheets are due in April with prizes being drawn in January. Door Prizes: A new person is needed to take care of door prizes each month as Ola Pfaff will be gone for two months and is looking to relinquish this duty. Lori Hilgen volunteered to take this over so any prize donations should be directed to her. Website Committee: The following members have volunteered to help Diane Balistriere maintain the website: Tina Silverio, Lori Hilgen and Belle Wichlacz. Adjournment: Motion: Jeanniene Rakowski 2 nd : Helen Goetz Respectfully submitted by Jessica Klemann
