Speaker Bios Jeff Johnson, Chief Marketing Officer, Hawes Group Jeff Johnson is a nationally acclaimed motivational trainer, speaker, and facilitator, as well as a veteran in the credit and collections industry. Prior to joining Hawes, Jeff had more than 10 years of experience as manager of client relations for Columbia Ultimate Business Systems, a premier provider of collection and receivable management software. Jeff also served as a director of the International Division of the Franklin Covey Leadership Center in Salt Lake City, Utah, where he worked with many Fortune 500 companies to improve internal processes through pinpoint training. Originally from Colorado, Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science degree in business management with a minor in human resources from Brigham Young University. He is a certified 7-Habits Trainer and has numerous professional memberships, including the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Jeff is the Oregon HFMA s past president and serves on the HFMA regional committee.
Mark Kostreba, Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Med A/Rx Mark is Sr. Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Med A/Rx and has over 30 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management solutions. He leads a national sales team to deliver RCM services to help clients make end-to-end improvements in the performance of the revenue cycle. Prior to Med A/Rx, Mark was Vice President of Sales for nine years for Medical Reimbursements of American (MRA), a Nashville based healthcare company providing programs to recover maximum reimbursements from accident related patient accounts. In addition, he has served as Director of Healthcare for Team Information Advantage, which delivered document imaging, storage and work flow solutions. Other related experience includes OPTIO Software, an international company providing comprehensive output management, print management and imaging solutions, Fair, Isaac & Company, an advanced analytics company providing predictive modeling and work flow tools, and First Data/Financial Health Services, a national revenue cycle solutions company focused on cash acceleration programs for hospitals. Mark is an advanced member of HFMA and has participated in committees and as a speaker for the Florida, Georgia and South Carolina Chapters. He has also been a speaker at MN HFMA, TAHFA, and AAHAM. Mark is a past board member of AAHAM, Greater Florida Buccaneer Chapter and served as Chapter Excellence Chair for several years.
Michael Hales, Senior Planning Consultant for Government Programs, Intermountain Healthcare In this role, Michael advises Intermountain leadership on policy and program issues related to Medicaid, Medicare, Federal Exchange Plans and the Children s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). Prior to joining Intermountain, Michael worked at the Utah Department of Health as a Deputy Director and was the state Medicaid Director for 10 years. In total, Michael worked 18 years for the Department. Michael also worked as a consultant with Princeton Consultants, advising clients in the healthcare and financial services industries. Michael holds a bachelor s degree in Business Management from Brigham Young University and a master s degree in Public Administration, with an emphasis in health care policy, from Harvard University Michael Crites, Workforce Solutions Consultant, Kronos Michael Crites is a Workforce Solutions Consultant on the Healthcare Analytics team at Kronos. He joined Kronos after 11 years at a customer site supporting the time and attendance, scheduling, and analytics applications. His specialty lies in leveraging enterprise-level labor management solutions to improve processes and financial performance
Corey Palasota, Director, VMG Health Corey Palasota is a director at VMG Health in the Dallas office. In addition to providing valuation and transaction advisory services, Mr. Palasota is also involved in the firm s proprietary research and management consulting initiatives. Mr. Palasota s valuation and consulting experience spans numerous sub-industries within healthcare including the valuation of complex multi-billion dollar enterprises. Since joining VMG, he has been involved in over 300 transactions comprised of acute-care hospitals, ambulatory surgery centers, diagnostic imaging centers, urgent care centers, freestanding emergency rooms, physician practices, diagnostic laboratories, inpatient rehabilitation facilities, long-term acute care hospitals, home health agencies, management companies, and assisted living facilities amongst various other healthcare entities. Prior to VMG Health, Mr. Palasota was an analyst at a hedge fund where he performed valuation and due diligence on the firm s concentrated investments. Mr. Palasota received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance and Business Honors from The University of Texas at Austin. He has obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute and has also published numerous articles regarding valuation complexities within the healthcare industry.
