SPEAKER BIOGRAPHIES CONFERENCE ACADEMY SPEAKERS 22 MAY (MONDAY) Time: 15:30-16:25 Topic: Artificial Intelligence Autonomous Driving Dr. Kai NI Vice President of Autonomous Driving, LeSEE (Super Electronic Ecosystem) Dr. NI was also autonomous driving technology founder of Baidu Autonomous Vehicle since its start in 2013 and led the team to finish road tests on public roads in Beijing at the end of 2015. He left Baidu autonomous vehicle team in Dec 2015 and joined LeSEE as Vice President. He got his Bachelor degree in Automation and a master degree in Computer Science both from Tsinghua University, in which Dr. Ni was working on THMR-V self-driving vehicle project. Later Dr. Ni got his Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Georgia Institute of Technology. After graduation he joined Microsoft as a researcher working on 3D maps and HoloLens projects. Afterwards Dr. Ni joined Institute of Deep Learning (IDL) at Baidu as a senior scientist. He was in charge of the autonomous vehicle project and also worked on the high-precision map project. He is now the leader of Machine Intelligence Lab of Lenovo Capital and Incubation Group. His team develops tools and software in the domain of machine learning and knowledge graph, and provide customized solutions across industries. He has worked for Huawei and Baidu and has co-founded an AI startup prior to that. Jia Chen has over 15 years experience in machine learning & pattern recognition. He has published research papers and patents.
