Short Sleeved Summer Shirt Thursdays April 18, 25 & May 2, 2019 Learn tips, shortcuts, and techniques to give you a professional looking shirt/blouse. Includes instructions for a "wrapped corner" for collar band, finishing band to outside & turning yoke eliminating handstitching needed to close seams, make your own bias binding to finish armhole on sleeveless shirt, setting in sleeve on short-sleeved shirt, interfacing to use, pocket template, and tips for top-stitching. QUILTING Let's Begin to Quilt Tuesdays, May 7, 14 & 21, 2019 This simple table runner will be a great start toward learning to quilt. We will learn to use a rotary cutter and mat, cutting, piecing, sandwiching, quilting and binding. Exploring Machine Quilting Wednesday April 17, 2019 Explore easy to do free motion machine techniques, as well as machine-guided methods for the beginner that is looking for a starting or jumping off point. The class starts with a discussion on notions, threads & needles. Make a number of samples using variety a techniques including : Alpha quilting, Incredigrids, and quick no mark borders that can be unbelievably versatile with many design possibilities. One 5hr Class $50 Machine Quilting 2 Wednesday April 24, 2019 This fast paced class is for those beginners that have experience with machine quilting. In the first part of the class, students stitch out a number of feather /fern shapes that can be used for borders and manipulated to fill in blocks. Two 2.5hr Classes $35 CHARITY SEWING Little Dresses for Africa Waneta Holmes Fridays, May 31 & June 28, 2019 10:00-4:00 Come join us to make simple little dresses and shorts for the millions of orphans in Africa. Over the last 4 years, we have sent over 2000 articles of clothing to Africa. Come for a few hours or spend the day. Patterns and most supplies are available. If you don t wish to sew, cutting out patterns would also be most helpful. If you don t wish to stay we would be very pleased to accept completed garments. Donations of clean cotton fabrics would also be most appreciated. Hope to see you at one of our workshops!
Atlantic Fabrics Creative Class Terms & Conditions Class Registration Information Payment in full is required upon registration in order to secure your space. Classes require a minimum of 4-6 students. Maximum varies based on the class. Class fees do not include HST, fabric and supplies unless otherwise noted. Upon registration you will receive a supply list outlining what you require for class. Sewing classes require that you bring your own sewing machine and/or serger (in good working order) and a basic sewing kit. Basic Sewing Kit consists of: needles (hand and machine), thread, seam ripper, scissors, straight pins, pencil/pen and paper. Additional supplies required, including fabrics, will be stated on your list. Basic sewing Kits are available for purchase. Sewing machines are available to rent for $7 per session. Bobbin and needle included. Thread sold separately. Classroom is open 15 minutes before class Please arrive early to get organized. Atlantic Fabrics Creative Classes are SCENT FREE due to severe allergic reactions. We ask that you please refrain from wearing perfumes and cosmetic scents, as well as using spray adhesives and other strongly scented items in class. Class Cancellation Policy: Should Atlantic Fabrics cancel the class due to insufficient registration numbers, students will receive one (1) week advanced notice and full refund on class. Refunds will only be issued within 30 days of the original class start date. We suggest waiting for confirmation that the class has sufficient registrations to go ahead before purchasing fabrics and supplies, as some items may be non-refundable
