STAA is a charity based in West Bromwich providing access to the arts: participation in creative activities to improve people's health and well being. STAA delivers positive arts experiences that enrich the quality of life of the people we work with. Our artists are experienced in working with all sorts of people with different needs and expectations. We believe creative activities help people to engage in the life of their communities through shared new experiences and new learning. Opportunities for hobbies and recreation give people more choices about how to live their lives. They help to keep people physically and mentally well and foster a healthier, happier society. Projects can be as short as one session, a half day, a day or a week of activity or a regular time slot over weeks or months. We use professional artists to deliver our services rather than amateurs or volunteers as the people we work with deserve to experience quality and excellence. Project fees reflect the professionalism of our artists and the quality of our projects. All our artists have exceptional records in delivering high quality projects. Our artists are self-employed and work on a contractual basis for us. They charge different pay rates for their expertise starting at 60 per session (usually two hours) but may charge more depending on the project. Fees include the artist s preparation, travel time, tax and national insurance contributions. Fees do not normally include the artist s travel costs, the costs of materials or the artist s time to attend meetings. Artists are insured through STAA when they work for us. STAA does not currently charge fees for facilitating projects.
