Sub-cut into five 12-7/8" squares. Cut each square across one diagonal to make ten side setting triangles. Cut one 14" square. Cut the square across both diagonals to make four corner setting triangles. See instructions to cut fifty-four Blades. Fabric B: See instructions to cut seventy-two Blades. Fabric C: See instructions to cut fifty-four Blades. Fabric D: See instructions to cut fifty-four Blades. Fabric E: Cut two 12-1/2" x 42" strips. Sub-cut into forty-eight 1-1/2" x 12-1/2" strips. See instructions to cut seventy-two Blades. Fabric F: Cut two 1-1/2" x 42" strip. Sub-cut into thirty-one 1-1/2" squares. Cut eight 2-1/2" x 42" strip. Piece the strips together and cut two 2-1/2" x 75-1/2" strips and two 2-1/2" x 61" strips. Cut seven 2-1/2" x 42" strips for the binding. See instructions to cut fifty-four Blades. Fabric G: Cut six 12-1/2" x 42" strips. Sub-cut into eighteen 12-1/2" squares. See instructions to cut eighteen circles. Backing: Cut two 87" x 42" strips. Cutting the Blades Instructions: 1. Follow the manufacturer's instructions to cut the small blades, cut one 5-1/4" wide strip from assorted fabrics. Position the blade template onto the strip, aligning the bottom of the strip with Small Bottom" line on the ruler and cut the blades following the manufacturer s instructions. (Make sure to trim the scalloped tops of the fabric blade to match the top of the small blade on ruler.) Blocks Assembly Instructions 2. Following the manufacturer s instructions, sew together the twenty assorted blades to make one Dresden plate. 3. Center the Dresden plate onto the 12-1/2" Fabric G square and pin or baste in place. Using your favorite method, applique the Dresden plated to the center of the square along the outside edge. 4. Using your favorite method, trace and applique one 4" circle from Fabric G to the center of the Dresden Plate covering the raw edges in the center of the Dresden Plate (Fig. 1) 5. Repeat Steps 2-4 to make a eighteen Dresden Blocks total. Quilt Top Assembly Instructions (Refer to the quilt layout while assembling): 6. Follow the quilt layout to arrange the eighteen dresden plate blocks, forty-eight 1-1/2" x 12-1/2" Fabric E strips, thirty-one 1-1/2" Fabric F squares, side setting triangles and corner setting triangles to make the quilt top. 7. Sew one 2-1/2" x 75-1/2" Fabric F strip to each side of the quilt top. Sew one 2-1/2" x 61" Fabric F strip to the top and bottom of the quilt top. 8. Layer and quilt as desired. 9. Sew the seven 2-1/2" x 42" Fabric B strips together, end-to-end with 45 seams, to make the binding. Fold this long strip in half, lengthwise with wrong sides together, and press. 10.
