It is part of the industry s first multisource agreement (MSA) to standardize surfacemount 10 Gb/s receivers. These compact receivers can be mounted directly to a printed circuit board, thus avoiding the space, routing, and EMI problems of a mechanical cutout. The output voltages are ac coupled internal to the component package. The R198A provides features to optimize for WDM applications, most notably, flat group delay, a +3.3 V supply requirement, and low power consumption. The R198A uses BiSn solder and is compliant with all criteria of the Restriction of the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment (RoHS) guidelines 2002/95/EC.
