COMMISSIONER PROCEEDINGS September 18, 2018 Minutes of the Wilkin County Board of Commissioners held at the Courthouse, Breckenridge, Minnesota, on Tuesday, September 18, 2018. Commissioner Folstad was absent. Chairman Hovland called the meeting to order at 8:00 A.M. Motion by Klindt, seconded by Larson and carried, to approve the agenda with additions. Motion by Larson, seconded by Miranowski and carried, to approve the minutes of the September 11, 2018, meeting. Construction, Inc., Morris, MN, for Bridge Replacement Project SAP 084-599-142 in the amount of $278,816.00. Motion by Miranowski, seconded by Larson and carried, to appoint Rick Steckler, George Schuler, Luke Wiertzema, Steve Haire, Sheri Friederichs, Eric Klindt and Dennis Larson to the Wilkin County Economic Development Authority Board. Commissioner Larson offered the following resolution and moved for its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Miranowski and carried. RESOLUTION 39-18 WHEREAS, the Minnesota Department of Revenue has established guidelines for County Government to follow in order to meet the Truth in Taxation requirements for taxes payable in 2019; and WHEREAS, these guidelines state that counties must certify a proposed levy by September 30; and WHEREAS, this certified levy must be after the deduction of County Program Aid. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Wilkin County Board of Commissioners hereby sets the preliminary budget at $19,380,731. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this is a proposed levy only and is subject to change. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Wilkin County Board of Commissioners confirms the date of their public budget meeting to be Thursday, December 6, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. in the Wilkin County Courthouse, Breckenridge, Minnesota. Adopted this 18 th day of September, 2018. Motion by Miranowski, seconded by Klindt and carried, to approve a three (3) year addendum to the Memorandum of Agreement with the University of Minnesota for providing local County Extension Administrative Support Staff. Motion by Larson, seconded by Miranowski and carried, to accept donations for the Sheriff s Department K-9 from Duane Holtz in the amount of $200.00 and $5,000.00 from the Rothsay Fire Department. Informational items were shared. The Family Services Report was approved as presented by David Sayler, Director, on motion by Klindt, seconded by Larson and carried. With no further business before the Commission at this regular meeting and the next regular meeting date set for October 9, 2018, in the Commissioners Room at 8:00 A.M., Chairman Hovland adjourned the meeting at 9:20 A.M.
