Thanges #1 Thurs, Jan 17 10:00 am- 1:00 pm OR 6:00 pm - 9:00 pm Thangles will begin meeting on the third Thursday of the month in 2013. (Thangles third Thursday! That has a ring to it.) We will meet for 7 months. Each month, 2 different blocks will be created using Thangles. You are going to love this sampler quilt that finishes approximately 72 x 88. How is this different than our regular Block of the Month program? This is a hands-on sewing class limited to 14 people in each session and you will be selecting your own fabrics for this quilt. We will be making a stripped Table Runner and napkins so that you will be able to practice the 4 thread overlock, setting the serger for a rolled edge, perfecting the corner technique when making napkins, setting the serger back to overlock. This class is for serger owners of any brand serger. Please know how to thread your serger before coming to class. 339. In this session we will discuss options for completing the squares to make a quilt or monthly wallhangings. 2012 Block of the Month Block of the Month for 2012 is winding down. We only have 4 months of meeting times. Mark your calendar for the following meeting dates if you are participating. Sept. 13 or 15, Oct. 11 or 13, Nov. 8 or 10, and Dec. 13 or 15. Believe it or not, we are in the preparation stages for Block of the Month 2013! Below are the details that we have so far for next year. 2013 Block of the Month begins in March The first meeting of the 2013 Block of the Month will be March 14th or 16th. We will continue to meet on the 2nd Thursday evening & the following Saturday morning. We are letting you have a sneak peak at the completed quilt - A Year to Crow About - by Red Rooster. This is a 7 month program, which allows you to have time to complete the quilt before the end of the calendar year. This quilt uses a panel print section in each of the blocks. We think you are really going to like the variety in this quilt. We try to make each year a learning experience of a different kind. As you can see, there are a variety of techniques used in the blocks. So now you have seen the BOM for 2013. We do not have all of the details worked out yet; however, if you plan to participate, please let us know so that we can begin to get a count of those who plan to join us for Block of the Month 2013!
