Duologue from The Wizard of OZ Dorothy Where am I? What has happened to me? Good Witch Welcome to the land of the Munchkins. We are grateful to you for having killed the Wicked Witch of the East and setting our people free form bondage. Dorothy You are very kind but there must be some mistake, I have not killed anything. Good Witch Your house did when it landed, see, there are her two feet sticking out from under a block of wood. Dorothy Oh dear! The house must ve fallen on her. Whatever shall we do? Good Witch There s nothing to be done now. We are pleased that this wicked witch will no longer make the Munchkins her slaves. Dorothy Who are the Munchkins? Are you one of them? Good Witch The Munchkins are the little people who live in the land of Oz. When they saw that the Wicked Witch of the East was dead, they sent for me and I came at once. I am the Witch of the North. Dorothy Oh gracious! Are you a real witch? Good Witch yes indeed! I am a good witch but I am not as powerful as this one was. Dorothy Look! Her feet have shrivelled up but her pretty sparkly shoes are still there. And there you are too Toto, I nearly forgot about you. Good Witch The sparkly shoes are yours now Dorothy, try them on. See they fit you, they have special powers and will keep you safe. Dorothy This is all very strange, you seem to know so much about me. Auntie Em will be worried if I don t get home soon. this must be a long way from Kansas. How can I find my way home? Good Witch You must go and ask the Good Wizard of Oz to help you. Dorothy How can I get there? Good Witch Follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City, where the Wizard lives. Dorothy Won t you come with me? Good Witch No I cannot do that, but I will give you my kiss, and no one will dare injure a person who has been kissed by the Witch of the North. Dorothy Thank you, it s been so good to meet you. Well now I have my sparkly shoes, my best friend Toto and the kiss of the Witch of the North. All I have to do now, is find the Wizard of Oz and ask him to take me back to Kansas. Goodbye, goodbye everyone. Good Witch Just follow the yellow Brick Road Dorothy goodbye my dear.

Duologue from Deltora Quest Barda I believe that this is the path to Wen Del and the shortest way to the forest. The turning fits the description I was given, but there should be a signpost and I can t see one. Lief It is here. Someone has pushed it over to keep the way secret perhaps someone has tried to save other travellers from the dangers along the path. Barda No I have no doubt the sign was not pushed over to hide the way, but to hide the warning. This path will save us a day and a half if we take it, but it could be very dangerous. Lief You do not have to guard my safety any longer Barda. This shortcut is too precious to waste. We are well prepared for trouble now and we watch for dangerous we go. Barda very well if, as you wish. (They walk cautiously and watch) Lief I can t believe how still and silent it is not even a rustle of leaves. Barda Hmmm not so silent can you hear that? Lief nooo. Ahh yes now I can what is it? Like a low hum? (look around) Barda Did you see a pair of red eyes watching us? Lief Yes. There is another pair. Red eyes everywhere. What do they want? Barda Draw your sword, but keep walking. Look to the front and be ready. Lief What are they? What are they waiting for? Barda That humming is getting louder. My ears are ringing Lief Will have - to -mrun Barda Legs won t - work Lief can t - go any - further
