How do you call this imaginary world? > Dystopia. Think of the definition of «dystopia» and its purposes. Dystopia : what is it? «dystopia» is the opposite of «utopia». It is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one. (cf oxforddictionaries.com) Dystopia : what for? A dystopian narrative shows us a nightmarish image of what might happen to the world in the near future. It aims at warning us against the dangers of a contemporary ideology or habit.
