All About Yarn Weekly Update Sept.2, 2014 Thank you for supporting All About Yarn, your LYS! Rox www.allaboutyarn.biz allaboutyarn@hotmail.com 763-785-4900 http://www.ravelry.com/people/allaboutyarnshop Oh my, it s Labor Day weekend and even though it s the latest Labor Day we can have it still seems like we should be nearing the middle of the summer instead of the end of summer. Perhaps, it is the warm summer temps that make it feel like July and not September. Summer hours will end after Labor Day Weekend and we will once again be open on Friday s from 10-5 and Saturday s from 10-4:30. I ve been knitting furiously on Nae trying to finish it I had some ground work to make up as I was not able to knit even one stitch when we were on vacation but my days have been so busy lately that I couldn t quite get it done in time for this week s update. So next week for sure. Over the holiday weekend my husband and I are traveling again as little Cal will be baptised and I m excited to get some more hugs and playtime in with the grand boys! Last week after they returned from vacation here in Minnesota Cal decided it was time to push himself up to a seated position and also sleep through the night big steps for mom & dad for sure. Remember to save the date for Sat., Sept. 26 from 10-4:30 for our annual Fall Festival. The alpaca s will make their annual appearance from 10-1 and we will have prize drawings, a sample sale, cookies & cider, and this year a sampling of free classes for you to try. Stay tuned for more details in the next two weeks. We are open for normal hours on Saturday and Sunday and closed Labor Day Monday.
Stripey, is a new fingering weight yarn from Spud & Cloe. Meghan, one of our newest employee s, but long time All About Yarny, knit us a newborn size sample using Stripey from K&P s newest baby sweater pattern. Below, Susan used the same yarn to knit a most unique and adorable baby hat. You must see these two items in person as they are so darn cute!!!

It took all summer and three knitters to complete this very simple but sharp looking vest. Knit with Flora, Paula started this last March and got about half way through it when she had Carpel Tunnel surgery I picked it up and worked on it a bit when I was in-between projects and then about a month ago, Carol needed a project at the shop so she grabbed it and just kept right on knitting until it was finished. Paula then took it home and seamed up the sides a true group effort! Show & Tell Thank you for letting me take pictures of your finished projects each week...your willingness to share inspires others! Thursday night Gina, recently completed a pair of fingerless mittens using Malabrigo Rasta and a pattern from the very popular Rasta in Brooklyn book.
