Christmas Party!!! Presidents Message Hello Friends, All enjoyed our retreat at Camp Loucon, most finished several UFO s and others started and/or finished new projects. I hope we have more attend next year. It was a great time! Everyone s Resolution Quilt were gorgeous. If you were unable to attend you really missed a great show. Kelly has put them on Facebook for all to see. Our Christmas party is December 14 th and will be our regular monthly meeting. If you have not already paid Margot your $5 for the meal and plan to attend please get in touch with Margot. Colton s will be catering and I know it will be a great meeting. Our next monthly meeting is December 14 th ; See you there! Workshops - Martha Brooks All classes are held at the Extension office in Elizabethtown, 201 Peterson Drive. Classes are Friday evening and all day Saturday - unless otherwise noted. Changes could happen, and everyone will be notified of changes of dates and classes if needed via Stitchers Email Blast. These classes are for beginners to advanced quilters On Saturdays - please bring your lunch, sewing machine, and supplies needed. KHQS Quilt Artists of Kentucky Quiltography Gallery Exhibit in Lexington information: There are 101 little quilts hung in the exhibition plus the EMOTIONS Challenge quilts in the exhibit. Mystery Workshop (Pattern is 10.00 Must be paid for in advance) Jan 13 th, 5pm 9pm Jan 14 th, 9am 4pm We will be making a 60 x 60 quilt. This is a two color quilt and there are at least four different ways to design your layout. This is a fat quarter friendly quilt. You will need a good contrast between your lights and darks. I used blacks and grays for mine. Fabric Requirements: 8 light FQ s (example light blues) 8 dark FQ s (example dark blues) or you could use something like red and gold 3/8 yard for inner border (6 Strips 1-1/2 x WOF) 1-1/4 yard for outer border (7 strips 5-1/2 x WOF) From each FQ cut the below amounts. Other Requirements: Rotary cutter, mat and ruler (a small ruler is better, like a 6x12) Pencil Basic sewing supplies

Approval of Minutes: was presented in the Newsletter and are on the tables, discussion none motion by Martha Claycomb, Seconded by Patty Pruitt Announcement- Guest Speaker Annette Jones Gave info on how Hosparus works and need Care Quilts for patients. Size should be 3 x4. Annette placed information sheets on front table. Thank you Suzanne Shircliff for introducing her. Treasurer s Report: Was in the Newsletter - discussion- filed for audit. Report of Officers and Standing Committees: 1 st VP Sharon Whitfield 2 nd VP Martha Brooks December 14, 6:30 p.m., Christmas Party, $10 Gift exchange if anyone is interested quilt related. January 13-14 Mystery Quilt with Kelly Pruitt, $10 for pattern-$5 for class. February-UFO days-17-20; March-17-18 with Pat McMillian-Raw Edge Applique. Secretary Barbara Jeffries- 2017 Quilt Show information and 1 st meeting January 23 @ 6 p.m. Extension Project Room. Still need help in Café, Program, Publicity, and Opportunity Quilt Tickets. Please see Barbara if you can help in any of these areas. All help is greatly appreciated! Treasurer Margot VanLengen Receiving money for next year dues, $22.00 and Christmas Dinner monies. Beth Hunter presented a check to Margot VanLengen on behalf of the Stitchers in the amount of $7,900. From 2016 Quilt Show. Old Business Refreshment Committee: December will be catered by Coltons. January- Veronica Culberson, Sharon Whitfield, Melanie Michael, Kathy Cravens, Jen Darcy, Ava Allen, and Barbara Jeffries. Veteran Quilts Pat McMillian-we now have 60+. We are still accepting them. Please continue to make the lap quilts 36x48. Food/Toothbrush Collection Patty Pruitt and Pat McMillian will take all donated items to Feeding America on the behalf of Stitchers. Operation Smile Pattern Anne Aubrey brought more patterns to pass out and some dolls were already made and turned in to Anne. These are considered community involvement as well as for Feeding America. New Business Homemakers- are sponsoring a Christmas dinner for BBBS and would like for each Homemaker Club to donated two crockpots with a meal fixed in it. December 15th @5:30 p.m. at Extension Office. Then they will take the crockpots home with them. Barbara Jeffries made motion for club to purchase 2 crock pots, Virginia Coomes 2 nd. Passed. Teresa Jenkins and Kelly Pruitt volunteered to make the meals. Sharon Whitfield/Darlene Chenault Resolution Quilts Lots of beautiful quilts presented.
