The reprt describes my experiences and findings during 20 weeks perid f internship perid at Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah Baling Sik. This reprt cnsists f descriptin f my respnsibilities in the rganizatin which is in develp e-gerak PPDBS. I will als discuss abut the challenges that I have encuntered and ways t vercme thse challenges. Furthermre, I will als talk abut new knwledge and skills that I have acquired thrughut the training. 1. INTRODUCTION Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Baling Sik is an educatinal ffice in the public agency under Malaysia Educatin Ministry. PPD Baling Sik lcated in Baling and Sik district which starting perating at Seklah Kebangsaan (SK) Baling. The first Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah is Tn. Hj. Yahya bin Awang. In 1989, the peratin f PPD Baling Sik have mved t Seklah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Baling and divided int 3 sectr which is schl management sectr, academic management sectr and humanitarian develpment sectr. Hwever, n 10 Octber 2010, PPD Baling Sik again have mved t new building at Batu 42 which is next t SMK Agama Baling. The current Pegawai Pendidikan Daerah is Mr. Amirulddin Bin Abd Hamid. PPD as the educatin sectr main rle is t imprve educatin perfrmance in Baling Sik district which divided int fur zne (Baling, Kuala Pegang, Kuala Ketil and Sik). PPD have t manage educatin purpse fr 85 primary schls and 25 secndary schl in Baling and Sik district. PPD Baling Sik have six divided scpe structure include f Schl Management, Academic Management, Quality Management, Infrmatin Management(ICT) and thers. 1
During 20 weeks f training, I was assigned t the ICT Unit headed by Mr. Mhd Nazri. The ICT unit cnsists f 2 emplyees and me as practical student. The duties and respnsibilities are t prvide ICT equipment in PPD. This unit als prtecting the data frm all student, teacher and schl data statistics and the data f fficers at PPDBS. My main rle is t help and supprt the unit as a prgrammer and als as a cmputer technician. Thrughut the training, I was given the trust t develp an e-gerak PPDBS system. I have develped the system in andrid platfrm and als web based. The technlgy used t build this system includes Java, HTML, PHP and MySQL. The system is designed t recrd and mnitr the activity f fficers and staff at PPDBS. In additin, it facilitates the prcess f recrding staff activities t better manage staff activities and becme easier. 2. PROJECT DETAIL The e-gerak PPDBS is a system that system enables staff t recrd in-service training they have jined such as wrkshps, discussins, meetings, briefings, curses and thers. This system als helps the management in checking the activity f a staff member. This system displays detailed staff activity recrds such as the name f activity, type, date, time, rganizer and place. This system facilitates the management f staff activities and is very useful t the administratin t present staff activity recrds n a weekly basis. This system is an nline system that will be used by all PPDBS staff t fill, manage their activity infrmatin. Each individual is allwed t fill their infrmatin individually. If an activity invlves a large number f staff members, the infrmatin is required t be filled by the administratin. This e-gerak PPDBS system has 7 basic mdules, which is Tambah Aktiviti, Kemaskini Aktiviti, Papar Rekd, Kemaskini Prfile, Kemaskini Prfile, Tambah Pengguna, Kemaskini Pengguna dan Papar Rekd Aktiviti Staf/Pegawai. Belw are the descriptins f mdules. Mdule Descriptin Tambah Aktiviti mdule The mdule enable user t create new activity that they will attend frmal activities. Kemaskini Aktiviti mdule The mdule enable user t update their activity. Papar Rekd mdule The mdule allws the user t view their all the frmal activities that users have entered. The activities display will be filtered by mnth/week Kemaskini Prfile mdule The mdule enable user t update their passwrd and detail. 2

Papar Rekd Aktiviti Staf/Pegawai mdule The mdule allws the district fficer t review 3. PROPOSED SOLUTION staff activity recrd. The methd f develping this system is using System Develpment Life Cycle, r als knwn as SDLC. This system is develp using prttype mdel, it invlves sme phases such as, Analysis, Design, Implementatin, Testing, and Maintenance. Analysis Design Implementatin Testing First f all, I have t study the advantages and disadvantages f traditinal prcesses as well as the flw f emplyee activity. In this phase, I als have t identified the essential requirements that need t be in this system s that the issues that arise can be vercme, such as the functin f adding activities, updating activities, deleting activities and displaying activity recrds. After that, I fund that the server blcked any devices that cnnecting frm the utside f netwrk due t limitatin access fr security. S that means nly devices within the PPD area that have gt an access t cnnect the internet cnnectin frm PPD s Wi-Fi t access this system. In this phase, I have designed the use case and the system interface. Andrid Studi and Adbe Dreamweaver are type f sftware that invlved in develping f the system. Next, prgramming language that I have use in develping prcess such as PHP, MySQL, and als Btstrap as a framewrk. In this phase, I have trained the user t use this system prperly s as t ensure that every single functin created can wrk prperly. In additin, this phase is t ensure that this system has been develped meet the cnsumer s needs. Maintenance After the testing phase f the system was dne, I fund an errr n the mdule Papar Rekd when there was n display f the activity recrds displayed and after identifying the cause f the errr, it tk a few hurs t reslve the errr cmpletely. 3
4. LESSON LEARNED AND CONCLUSION a. Imprvement f the Prject Thrugh the develpment f the PPDBS e-gerak system, imprvements were made significantly by cnverting manual systems t cmputerized systems. Previusly, the prcess f cmpleting activity infrmatin tk a lng time. The PPDBS e-gerak system can facilitate the prcess f managing staff activity infrmatin rather than the previus methd where staff activity management is dne manually. The prcess t entering and managing activity infrmatin is very efficiency. b. Which part f the prject can be extended The PPDBS e-gerak system can be imprved by upgrading applicatins that supprt ios. This is because the applicatin develped des nt supprt ios. Therefre, it will prvide cnvenience t users using ios perating system t use PPDBS e-gerak system. c. New Skills Acquired The PPDBS e-gerak system has given me the pprtunity t expand my infrmatin technlgy knwledge. Thrughut the develpment f this system, I managed t imprve my prgramming language in PHP, JAVA, and MySQL. In additinally, I can use the Andrid Studi and Adbe Dreamweaver sftware mre efficiently and effectively. Next, thrugh the develpment f this system als, I can implement btstrap framewrk int the PPDBS e-gerak system. d. Experience gained While at Industrial Training Place, I can als discipline myself in fulfilling the wrk set frm 8am t 5pm. I can als feel the real wrk envirnment and this can be a useful experience when I get int the wrking envirnment later. I am als trained t wrk tgether in ur wrk with ther practical learners such as getting their insights, asking fr smething incmprehensible and ding wrk in grups. e. Benefits t the Organizatin The benefits f develping this system t the rganizatin is they are able t manage activity infrmatin mre systematically as well as t save time managing activity infrmatin. f. Cnstraint the cnstraint I need t get thrugh is the weak signal f Wi-Fi access in my wrkspace. it hinders the prcess f develping a system t be set up within the prescribed perid. S I had t wrk in anther rm with mre stable Wi-Fi access t ensure smth running f the system. In additin, the lack f skills related t Java prgramming language limits the prcess f develping this mbile app. In additin, it is difficult t get references as a factr that makes this applicatin difficult. Next, it's hard fr me t get in tuch with my supervisr t update the system as he regularly ut f the area. 4
g. Cnclusin ACKNOWLEDGEMENT A Thrughut Industrial Training at PPD Baling Sik, I have gained many experiences, knwledge and expsure frm my supervisr. All the rewards gained have made me aware f increasing selfesteem t face a grwing challenge nw. Practical is cmplementary t the knwledge r theries learned during lectures. Thrughut I am underging industrial training, there are many changes frm the learning envirnment, the envirnment and the assciatin f fellw clleagues. They teach me wrk ethics and hw t be gd at wrk. S I can cnclude here that the industrial training prgram benefits many students and has a psitive impact n the students.
