A Luck is Not Found but Made I m a strong believer of not relying on luck and if you want something you are capable of obtaining it with determination. If you want to paint sunflowers like Van Gogh pick up a paintbrush and try! And look, the kindergarteners are doing a fabulous job at painting sunflowers like one of their new favorite artists (Van Gogh). A. Skills are not just luck I have heard it time and time again you re so lucky to be able to (insert an artistic creative action here) Artists everywhere wish that skills were obtained by just luck. Unfortunately, it takes a ton of work and time! The children at MSPCS explore and push themselves; just like the artists they learn about. I love seeing all the talented artists growing through MSPCS s art program. B. Making is empowering The I can t believe I made that look is something that I discover (and treasure) as students come to the end of a project. When students finish a project we have an all class critique. The students give compliments, comment, and ask questions about each other s artwork. The MSPCS artists love to share with excitement and pride their ideas and process from their art. B C. The occasional lucky accident Okay, sometimes in art- we have an accident or push something too far And these moments are huge! They can make your work amazing and standout or they can be purely a learning moment both are valuable to an artist practice, you ll never know unless you try and sometimes it can be a lucky accident.
