LMF Mouse Heating [4 December 2016] Scribe: Bean Absent: Michael (excused), David (excused), Ju (excused), Kedi (excused), Vivian (late, excused), Charlotte, Andy (late), Liz (late), Elisa Officer meeting Danunu: We need to talk about kettles Emily: I m donating mine! Jesse: Do you remember the last time we had a kettle house meeting? Danunu: Yes, I fucking do! hahaha Japoob: We need to talk about parts for various appliances Danunu: Anything else? Clean your shit as usual. Jesse: I Need to talk about new cutting boards MOUSE HEATING House President Fiona: all right, let s get started. Rhis is the last house meeting of the semester. It s going to be short! I have a couple announcements for people who don t know: at end of each semester, we have grandes nettoyages. I ll put up the sheet for you to sign up on wall opposite kitchen soon. This is to make sure house is good state before IAP. 1.5 weeks left! we can do it! so speaking of that, lmf over iap: No official dinner. if you re staying here, of course you can live here, but you have to cook for yourselves. kitchen cleanliness is your responsibility. don t want more cockroaches. bulk ingredients won t be replaced during that time, so they ll tend to get used up. Sarah: Effie and I our going to put a calendar up and hope to do fun things as a house Fiona: there s a lot of fun things during iap; you ll have extra free time Danunu: fun story about grande nettoyages. last year we had insane fruit fly infestation. Grande nettoyages and starving over winter break, and it solved the problem. Let s do the opposite, (everyone laughs) actually the same thing.

Jesse: For freshman from warm climates, shopping trip for winter clothes can be arranged. Fiona: If you ve thought anything so far has been cold.it can get brutal. Kristin: Can we go for a shopping trip anyway? For exploring Boston? Yeah! VP: Danunu: Thanks for not moving out! I will do Lambda Mu Phi year next semester, I promise! So this year they re going to be training REX chairs in February, so we should select our VP selected by February, so we should elect president and VP for next year at our February meeting. We ll email out about this over IAP, and if this is something you re considering nominating people or yourself for something, think about that. You can ask last years rex chairs (see website) if you re curious about the job. Treasurer: Sarah: all checks i ve been given have been turned into bank, so we now have money in our account. But I have two checks that were not signed. I also have a check with no name on it, but I need to figure that out. Some haven t turned in their house bills, so do that asap. Fud Studs: Jesse: So, the end of the semester is upon us. Um, and we need to start thinking about finals dinners. This year is a bit different from normal because finals are Friday and then Mon-Thurs. We usually just send out a poll to see who s gonna be here, but we can t do that as well this year because.yeah. I believe the last day of classes is on a Wednesday, then we have finals F, M-Thurs. Let s do a hands up to see who s here when, and then we ll decide when to have dinners. So the last cook with your cook team will be Wednesday Dec. 14th, a week and a half from now. Who will be here on the first Friday? Everyone, S? M? T? W? Thurs? Judging y hands, we ll do dinner thru Wednesday of finals week. We ll do first Rhurs night (Dec 15th), not Friday, but then yes for Sunday, Monday, Tues, and Wed. These typically come out of GRT budget, which is fixed, but we have more ppl than normal, and Rebecca isn t here right now. I was wondering if people would be willing to chip in a dollar to subsidize dinners. Fiona: What about talking to John Ross? Jesse and Sarah: He has a small budget, so it s a no go.

Fiona: Send us numbers. Jesse: Are people okay with $1 per meal for finals dinner? (everyone seems on board) Jesse: Okay, cool. The usual clean yo shit. Please actually scrub your pans, except for cast iron and the one wok. Fiona: Related food announcement: usually ppl without finals will cook breakfast for those with finals. It s a tradition. I was wondering if anyone would like to join me? Email me! Sarah: For diner de noel, we charge it based on who was there and what you ate, so I ll send out a survey. I need an accurate count, so fill it out, even if you weren t there. Danunu: Do we pay for our guests? Sarah: Yes Sports chairs: Sports chairs! We re Bond the sports chairs. Season is over. Japoob the younger: How did we do stats wise? Pond: I don t remember probably out of 10 games, we won 3. No forfeits! Japoob the younger: Were those three from forfeits? Pond: I refuse to comment. If you still want to play badminton, etc., hit me up! REX chairs: REX! Social chairs: On Dec. 15, Rebecca is trying to get us dogs from puppy lab. She filled out a form and emailed, but she s waiting for official official confirmation. We ll keep everyone updated. Effie: Can she bring her hedgehog? Fiona: Probably not a good idea with the dogs Emily: Do we want another event before end of semester> Danunu: maybe cheese? Emily: okay, something chill. we ll see about that. Education chair Xavi: Education chair is really tired, but actually it has worked somehow. People have started speaking french! You should give them..wait how do you say it? Applause. (claps to Effie and some others). You should all um speak little more French with me.

Emily: You re so good at this, I feel so motivated. Danunu: How do we get ppl to speak french more Xavi: It seems that reverse psychology works. Don t speak french, everybody. Emily: We used to do french marathon: weeks where we speak only french Sarah: We should do them near beginning of semester Fiona: We ll talk about this for beginning of spring semester Tech Chair: Printer still down. Working on fixing it. Environment chairs Mary: We don t have anything Fiona: Great job with decorations! Mary: Tiffany, Marie, and avi helped Fiona: Rebecca is in Colorado teaching an electronic music class or a day or something cool like that. if she were here, she d probably say to visit her to talk if you re stressed. her room is really relaxing Danunu: If you re stressed, sad, or scared, or what s a final, talk to upper classmen, Rebecca, or S^3. PNR you re going to be okay. Sometimes you have unexpected free time too! Emily: serious talk, I went on leave second semester freshmen year, so if you have questions about navigating S^3 or medical/leave things, come talk to me and drink my tea. I m happy to talk to you and can give you concrete advice. Avi: I also went on mental health related leave; happy to talk to you, and I m aware of updated policies for leave, etc. Also weird esoteric comic book facts. Pond: or if you need something stronger than tea Fiona: No, Pond. UA always sends out email about rules about when tests/assignments can be due. Check that to see if your classes contradict that. sometimes professors just forget. they re mostly not evil. Email them or someone you re comfortable emailing about it Fiona: That s it. Enjoy rest of your evening Emily: I m donating my old kettle now that I have a new one from Secret Santa. Danunu: What s the eta until we break it?

Emily: Please be nice to it! I ve used it in kitchen a couple times, and it hasn t broken the outlet, so it should be fine. It s in kitchen now, and my new kettle is in maisonette bathroom. Sarah: Shout out to freshmen for being awesome Fiona: From time dishes started coming up, it took a couple hours. Record time. It was awesome, good job freshmen for helping! Fiona: There are people wandering into our pantry now Sarah: Ah, yes, I sent them here! It s okay
