Many are just walking by, they stop, take a second look, then come inside for a closer look at the beautiful artwork. The positive response has been overwhelming, many expressing their gratitude of having an art gallery in the Mall. Our move to the Montclair Plaza Mall in February has not only increased the number visitors to our Gallery SOHO and the annual show (May 8th-24th), but also increased artist s sales. In this year s annual show we had 171 entries, 87 entrants and presented 67 awards for Continued on page 3 Welcome NEW MEMBERS Richard & Marie Reichelt Danny Williams Judy Gutierrez Suki Johnston Eunkyung (Kay) Han Sonia Mir Libbi Shorts Josette Wyatt Kathy Calagna Lucila Virgen Donald & Linda Williamson Henry H. Snapshots From The Show! Interior of South Gallery displaying both 2-D and 3-D entries. Congratulations to Nancy Brinkley for receiving BEST OF SHOW honors for her unique entry titled PROUD CHIEF. Virtually every square inch of wall space was needed to accommodate the more than 150 artist s entries for the 34th OJS. < Interesting photo! It was necessary to isolate every entry so the judge could easily evaluate each individual piece of art. This became the most practical way to quickly accomplish this. 2

The Monthly Open Art Show conditions for entry, exhibiting & sales can be found on the association website at www.pvaa.net annual show. I m extremely grateful and sincerely appreciate everyone who played a part in our 34th Annual OJS. It was an incredible honor to have Tony Sheets, the son of one of the Founding Members of PVAA, Millard Sheets, as our judge. We are extremely grateful to Tony for judging this year s show. I want to express my deepest thanks to our PVAA President, Jerius Williams and Vice President, Kathleen McCall for their dedication, determination and hundreds of hours of hard work.
