P a g e 2 R o t a r i p o s t Last Tuesday we recognized Tom and Elizabeth Arceneaux for becoming Major Donors to The Rotary Foundation. Tom received his B.S. degree (magna cum laude) from LSU Baton Rouge and afterward he earned his J.D. degree from LSU Law Center. He served on the Shreveport City Council from 1982-1990 and continues to be involved in the community by his participation in the Highland Restoration Association and many other boards, committees and efforts. He is vice-president of marketing for the Blanchard, Walker, O Quin & Roberts Law Firm and serves on their executive committee. He is a community columnist for The Shreveport Times. Tom Arceneaux speaks to the members after president Teri Haynes presented Tom and Elizabeth with their Major Donor award and pins. In 1994 Tom was sponsored in our club by Jay Murrell. He served as our club president in 2007-2008 and the following three years he was Rotary District 6190 s Foundation Chair. Many of our members have been honored when Tom has surprised them with a Paul Harris Fellowship. Club Match of TRF donations Several weeks ago Lawrence Calhoun, our club s chair for The Rotary Foundation, announced that our club is offering a match of foundation points to your donation to TRF. The dollar amount of your tax deductible donation will be matched by club recognition points. This can move you up a level in your PHF or you can become a new Paul Harris Fellow. This offer is available through the end of April and is capped at 5,000 points. We have approximately 2,000 points still available for matching. Contact Judy if you plan to take advantage of this during April.

The Red River flooded in 2015 and 2016. Because of the flood waters the Riverfront Park was underwater for quite some time and sustained significant damage. SPAR and the City have only recently completed the repairs to this area.
