JULY-AUGUST 2017 Mayflower Minutes U P C O M I N G P R O G R A M S July 7 NO MEET- ING DUE TO HOLIDAY July 21 Tim & Sandy, Using Microsoft Publisher for Philately August 4 Giant Auction August 18 Carol Schoenfeldt, Wife of a Stamp Collector CLUB NOTES The annual club elections are here! The election ballot is included in this newsletter. We had some difficulty with nominations this year, and we have a partial slate. People stepped up for all of the positions except for Secretary. Feel free to write in someone who you think would be qualified for the job, otherwise it will go unfilled. The ballots must be returned by the meeting on August 18th. Please keep in mind that if you are going to mail in your ballot you will need to allow sufficient mailing time. The winners will be announced on August 18th and assume their respective positions at the first meeting in October. We are STILL looking for someone to step up to coordinate refreshments (since this time last year). Also, Charlie could use a hand with meeting programs. Finally, Doug announced that we need people to assist on the nominating committee. Inside this issue: July 21st Auction Listings August 4th Auction Listings August 18th Auction Listings Club Officers & Trustees Tidbits 2 3 4 5 At a recent meeting, Doug gave a rather strong message about having no one being nominated for the officer positions, stating that unless there is a board, we have no club. Dissolution is an option in the future if we cannot get people to do their DUTY. Yes, DUTY. You are a member of one of the best stamp clubs in the state. Please search your conscience and ask yourself if you are contributing to the club, at least as much as the benefits you receive from membership. Hopefully next year s elections will be much easier.
