1 a. Project title The Authentication of Sacral Artefacts for Sustaining The Communitarian Viability b. Acronym PATRIPICT c. The Project s abstract The main goal of the project The Authentication of Sacral Artefacts for Sustaining The Communitarian Viability (PATRIPICT) is the providing an innovative service of authentication, studying, evaluation and investigation of sacral artefacts by using an integrated system of modern methods on the bases of the methodology of study and preserving or restoring sacral artefacts. We tackle as the main effect an increasing of the patrimonial value of these artefacts, as well as, an increasing of the cultural touristy interest. We are going to use within the integrated system the following methods: FTIR, RAMAN, UV-VIS, EDAX, RMN, DSC, DTG, raze-x, SEM, AFM, XRF, radiography, biological methods both for the wood support and for the polychrome sheets. The artefacts of this project are icons on wood support dating from the period of 1500-1600 years and are located in Targoviste Stelea Church Romania. d. The general objectives and their future results The fundamental objective of the project is the elaboration of an innovative service of authentication, studying, evaluation and investigation of sacral artefacts by using an integrated system of modern methods. The following steps will be check in order to achieve the fundamental objective: The elaboration of the data library of advanced modern methods involved in the investigation of sacral artefacts; Providing the research methodology in integrated modern methods on fresh and laboratory wetherined wood support and pigments; Providing the research methodology in integrated modern methods wood support and pigments of artefacts; Providing the innovative service as standards and methodologies in integrated methods; The general objectives The elaboration of the data library of advanced modern methods involved in the investigation of sacral artefacts; Providing the research methodology in integrated modern methods on fresh and laboratory wetherined wood support and pigments; Results The state of the art rapport; Providing the research methodology in integrated modern methods wood support and pigments of artefacts; The logical scheme of the modern methods in the integrated system on fresh and laboratory wetherined wood support and pigments; Providing the innovative service as standards and methodologies in integrated methods; Monogarphy about the general standars and methods, specific methodologies succesfuly used in this project. Thus, changes in the infrared spectra of wood samples due to the decay were recorded. Ass the sub-purpose, possibility of the application of the integrated methods: infrared and Raman spectroscopy, EDAX, XPS, AFM to the measurement of the degree of this decay were examined. Changes in infrared spectra have been recorded with the comparison to wood belongs to different periods of time, fresh bees wax and rosin [1]. Consequently, it had been expected from this study that some changes in molecular structures of wood components would appear even at the initial stage of decay. The shift of the bands at 1730, 1380 and 1050 cm-1 in the FTIR spectra would be better correlated with FT-Raman spectra and the EDAX, XPS, AFM methods [2-4]. Considering the complex decay of rosin, bees wax and wood fiber of the support we developed a paralell the standard protocol of these integrated methods on different types of frash and laboratory weathered wood, bees wax and rosin samples.
