Outline of SIP Aiming to realize Science, Technology and Innovation through basic research, application research, and commercialization by crossministerial cooperation. CSTI decides subjects to solve the significant issues and achieve the remarkable economic growth. CSTI appoints Program Directors (PDs) for each project and allocates the budget. Council for Science, Technology, and Innovation Governing board (CSTI Executive Members) Outside experts SIP-adus is the one of 11 projects of SIP. adus : Automated driving systems for universal service Program Director (PD) (assigned to Cabinet Office for each policy issue) Enhancing the support system of the Cabinet Office Establish structure below for each theme Promotion Committee PD (Chairman), relevant ministries, experts, management corporations, Cabinet Office (secretariat) Relevant ministries and management corporations and other researchers 3 3

Goal & Exit Strategy of SIP-adus 1.Ensuring safety and traffic jam reduction on the road 2.Realization and spread of Automated Driving System 3.Realization of advanced next generation public bus service good for elderly and handicapped people. 4

Outline of SIP-adus FOT Objectives 1. The activation of the study/technology development toward accelerating of the social implementation of the ADS by the preparation of the infrastructure and the field for the experiments. 2. Acquisition of the new viewpoint through participation of various players. 3. Promotion of development and proof of each elemental technology. 4. Leading of international cooperation and harmonization through the opening for participation to the foreign makers. 5. Building Social acceptability by involving citizens.
